Exercise 1

The teacher asks the students to cover the text with a piece of paper, look at the picture and answer the questions, working in pairs. One of the pictures shows Aigul, with whom the students are familiar from past English textbooks for grades 5 and 6. Students should remember that Aigul's friend in 5th grade was David from Great Britain, an international student exchange program participant who returned to his home country at the end of the school year. In the 6th grade, Aigul moved to an international school, where she studied with students from different countries. Tom from America became her classmate and friend at the new school. In three other pictures,pupils discuss what is depicted on the emblem and flag of the Kyrgyz Republic and what their constituent elements (images, colors) symbolize.

Exercise 4c)

Students compose their sentences with the words of Statement 4a. After that, they exchange notebooks and check the suggestions of their classmate. The teacher tells the students that in case of difficulty or doubt, they can turn to him. At the end of the work, the teacher calls the word, and the student reads the sentence he liked with this word, composed by his classmate. This activity develops sentence writing skills and encourages critical thinking in students.

Students read about situations involving adolescent problems. Working in pairs, students discuss which teenager is having the biggest problem.


Exercise 5


Students reread the situations and determine whether the headings correspond to the given situations. At the end of the work, the students compare the answers in pairs, then check together with the teacher.
