Nikitsky Botanic Garden

Alexander I

It is a great scientific and research centre in Nikitsky village of the southern coast of the Crimean Peninsual.

In December 2001 it was recognized as a national treasure of Ukraine.

The emperor Alexander the first seined an order about organizing an imperial state botanic garden in the Crimea .

It was Cristian Steven, who created and organized the garden the way we know it now. As he thought the garden must have all the decorative and useful plants, that grew in Southern Europe.

And in 1912, the first plants were planted. In twelve years more than four hundred and fifty kinds of exotic plants were being grown in the garden.

Nikitsky botanic garden is more popular now as a cultural and entertaining centre.

There is a peach of silver firs there which have the unique quality of disinfecting the surrounding air. They make the air so crystal clear that it is possible to perform surgeries right there.

They also grow bamboo grass there.

One can't but mention and about the so cold “naked tree”, that looser back and looks like a snake in changing it’s skin.

You should also see a lot of incredible flowers and bushes, trees and another plants, that are gowned there .
