Monuments of our town

Nowadays every city is filled with different buildings: malls, houses, culture palaces and monuments. Time changes, people create new forms of useful buildings. But what about our past? I definitely think, that everyone should remember important events and people who made lots for us.

I live in the town called Miass. Here we have memorials for the memory of the Great Patriotic War and a monument devoted to Victor Makeev. On the 9^th of May citizens always celebrate the Great Victory Day near our memorials. But I’d like to tell you more about monument which remembers us about the great man, who did a lot for all of us.

Victor Makeev was a rocket builder; he projected rockets in the enterprise, called the State rocket centre. Because of him our town became a leader in rocket building in Russia and in Chelyabinsk region. There are two monuments devoted to him; both are situated in the Northern part of our town, called Mashgorodok. One of these monuments is surrounded with flowers and beautiful bushes.

I’d like to erect a monument for the memory of our town’s gold diggers, because the story of Miass started with gold and it’s really important to remember people who made your native town as good as it is.

To conclude, I’d like to say that the past plays a very important part in our life, so I really hope that we’ll do our best not to forget it.
