When it comes to speaking about shopping, I’d like to point out that it’s a process of buying and selling things. Nowadays shopping has become an industry of consuming.

Modern shopping centres make shopping really convenient as a shopping mall is like a city under one roof. Firstly, there are many different shops in one shopping centre where you can buy practically everything. So you don’t need to spend time on commuting. Secondly, there are many facilities there such as food courts, cinemas, amusement parks which you can use for entertainment.

In the past you had to waste a lot of time searching for the right thing in different shops. Nowadays you just open the shop’s site, choose the necessary thing and buy it. I think it’s much faster, cheaper and more comfortable. So, personally I prefer online shopping.

Besides, supermarkets use tricks to tempt customers buying more. To start with, they have eye-catching displays and delicious smells which make you feel hungry and purchase more. Secondly, the most expensive goods are at eye level, while cheap ones are usually on the higher shelves, so that people cannot see them well. What’s more, supermarkets use special offers, product replacement and packaging strategies to tempt customers into spending more.

If people want to be responsible shoppers, they should follow some advice. Firstly, they should make a shopping list to avoid unnecessary purchases. Secondly, one great way to save money is to take advantage of seasonal retail shifts when they sell products off at reduced prices. Last but not least, don’t fall for tricks of shops.

In conclusion, I’d like to say that nowadays people cannot live without shopping but they should be ethical, green and use good money sense.
