Цели:
Практические:
- познакомить учащихся с историей Олимпийских игр, первыми спортивными традициями;
- обобщение изученной лексики по теме спорт;
- организация практического использования материала в устной речи.
- продолжить формирование умений работать с текстами, иллюстрациями, выделять главное, составлять рассказ, высказывать свою точку зрения;
Общеобразовательная: развитие общего кругозора учащихся.
Развивающая: развитие памяти, внимания и умения правильно оформить высказывание и выбрать главное в потоке информации.
Воспитательные:
- привитие интереса к предмету;
- привитие интереса к спорту и здоровому образу жизни.
Тип урока: урок изучения нового материала.
Языковой материал: изученная и новая лексика на основе тематического текста.
Речевой материал: ранее изученные грамматические структуры и времена.
Оснащение урока: компьютер, мультимедиа проектор, экран, обычная доска, наглядность, раздаточный материал.
Ход урока
I. Организационный момент:

Teacher: Good morning, pupils! I am glad to see you. At our today’s lesson we’ll speak about History of the Olympic Games, Olympic symbols, Different sports, Olympic champions. There are many different events and people in the history of sport, that is why our lesson is going to be interesting and informative.

Pupil: A Brieth History of the Olympic Games. The first Olympic Games were held in 776 BC in Olympia, Greece. The Games were held every four years in honor of the king of the gods, Zeus. There was only one event in the earliest Olympiad: the 200-yard sprint. Soon other events were added. For 1000 years the Games were at regular intervals of four years. The modern Olympic Games are still held every four years. But they were interrupted in 1916, 1940 and 1944 by World Wars. In 393 A.D., the Byzantine Emperor Theodosius I banned the Games. In 1894 Baron Pierre de Coubertin wrote a letter to the athletic organizations of every country. Two years later the first modern Olympic Games took place. In the modern Olympic Games the athletes march in a parade for the opening of the Games. Russia joined the Olympic Games in 1952. In 1980 Moscow hosted the twenty-second Olympic Games.

A Brief History of the Olympic Games
The first Olympic Games were held in 776 BC in Olympia . Greece. The Games were held every four years in honor of the king of the gods, Zeus. There was only one event in the earliest Olympiad: the 200-yard sprint.
