Donetsk Botanical Garden

Donetsk is a very green city. Donetsk residents are proud of beautiful city parks, cozy public gardens and shadowy boulevards. A truly man-made floral miracle , Donetsk Botanical garden is located in the Eastern part of the city . You can fully escape from reality and forget which part of the world you are in . After all, the nature of almost the entire globe is represented on the territory of the Botanical garden . Donetsk Botanical garden was founded in 1964 . By its area (262.2 hectares) it still ranks the first place in Europe.

You can discover more than 5,500 thousand plants, represent­ing various natural and climate zones of our planet , here , in the middle of this great industrial city. A magnificent collection of flowers will catch your imagination. There are dozens and hundreds of different varieties of roses, tulips, peonies, irises, asters, orchids, as well as more than 1,000 species of different trees and bushes.

The unique tropical and subtropical collection includes more than 1,500 species and subspecies. And rare and endangered plants are grown in the gardens, including 71 species of internationally protected plants, 97 species recorded in the Red Book, and 88 species of plants protected regionally.
