Тема: Great Britain.

Цели:

Воспитательная: воспитание культуры, толерантности, умения видеть и ценить прекрасное, воспитание ответственности и добропорядочности.

Развивающая: развитие интеллекта учеников, расширение кругозора по теме страноведение.

Практическая: познакомить учеников с Великобританией: ее культурой, политическим строем, особенностями страны.


Форма проведения внеклассного мероприятия: урок с элементами викторины.

Средства; оформление помещения: список слов по теме: Великобритания для фонетической зарядки, презентация, иллюстрирующая достопримечательности страны, песня группы Биттлз, раздаточный материал, список вопросов по теме.

Сценарий внеклассного мероприятия:


T: Good morning dear pupils. Today you won’t have an ordinary lesson, because you and I will imagine that we are in Great Britain! And the aim of our lesson is to know many new and interesting facts about the UK, and to learn to tell your friends about places of interest that you want to visit.

First of all pay your attention to new words. You will need them today, that’s why you should know how to pronounce them correctly.


(Учитель раздает ученикам лист со словами для фонетической зарядки. См. приложение 1 упр.1)


T: Very good! Now you know how to pronounce these important words, that’s why we can move forward. And I would like to find out what do you know about Great Britain? I will ask you questions and you should choose the correct answer. 



Great Britain includes:

England, Scotland, Wales

Wales, Northern Ireland, England

 T: Well done. You know many facts about England. But do you know any famous English people who influenced the world?

Of course there are many of them, but you are absolutely right that everybody in the world knows the group Beatles. Now we will sing their famous song and you will feel the atmosphere of England here in our class.

T: Very well! You are really good singers! As we began to speak about famous people, tell me please, who is the head of the country?

P: The head of the country is the Queen.

T: And what’s her name?

P: Elizabeth II.

T: You are right. And now I suggest you to listen to about English politics. One of your group mates will tell you about it.

P: And I would like to ask some questions.

1. What does the Queen do? Does she rule the country?

2. The Queen’s power is limited by what?

3. The Parliament consists of 2 chambers, name them.

4. How often do the elections of Parliament take place in the UK?

5. Who is the head of the Government?

6. How many parties are there in Great Britain? Name them.

T: Very good. You listened to the report very attentive. And now look at your shits of paper. There you can find the next task. You should choose the correct answer from two variants. If you do everything right you will get additional information about the Monarchy and the Queen. (см. приложение 1 упр.2)


T: I think that you have noticed so many places in the report of your group mate and in the last story that's why it’s high time to speak about them in details.

T: Very interesting! Now I will describe a place and you will guess it.

1. It is the lowest bridge over the Thames. It opens and closes when ships pass.

2. It’s the second largest Church in the world. It’s where Prince Charles married Lady Diana Spencer.  

3. It was built to be a fortress. Then it was a prison and today it's a museum where the Crown Jewels are kept.

House of Parliament

. It's the official residence of the Queen and the Royal Family when they are in London. The Changing of the Guard (a colourful ceremony) takes place in front of the Palace. 

5. The English Parliament meets here.

6. It is a famous clock tower in London near the Houses of Parliament.  

7. It's the London's Royal Church because almost all the Kings and Queens have been crowned here in the Coronation Chair. 

8. It's one of the most important museums in the world. It contains rich collections of things from all over the world and has become one of the best libraries.  

T: Very good. Now you know many places of interest and I’d like to know: if you had enough money what place would you visit and why?

T: Today you have known many interesting things about England, about its culture and politics. On Monday we will continue to speak about the UK namely about its system of education. Our journey is over. Good bye.
