Educational: To provide learners with the information about the places in a town, to teach “the prepositions of place” so that learners can make sentences and speak about the places in a town and describe pictures of a town.

Developing: To develop pupils' reading, speaking, listening and writing abilities. To study active vocabulary of the theme and to give learners different tasks, so that they can use the vocabulary in their speech.

Upbringing: To demonstrate learners how to behave politely and to teach them structures, so that they can ask for directions.

Good morning children!

Good morning teacher!


How are you today?

I wish you to get excellent knowledge in English, to have good mood

Divide the class into two groups. Collect different personal items of the learners, toss them and then divide them randomly into two.

Introduce the aims and tasks of each group. They are the following:

  • To speak in English

  • To be active



Begin the class by stating: today we have unusual lesson: quest. What does it mean? It’s searching, riddle and competition. You have been studying English for 5 years, you are good at English. And you’ve been sent some present from England. Look at the screen.


What can you see in video? (Places in our town). Unfortunately, our guests from England can’t come to us. But they have put the present in some place in our town. You should find it. You should do different tasks to find it.


We work in two groups, we have maps. We go to different places and do tasks. According to your right answers you get coins. If you do all tasks, and find the present, you’ll get it.


So, let’s start.


1st station “Chain of words”

Каждая команда получает набор карточек и картинок для игры. Задание для учащихся: расположить карточки таким образом, чтобы получилась цепочка слов. (картинка –слово). После выполнения задания команды по очереди зачитывают цепочки слов. 2 коман.- ключевая фраза- ключ к др. этапу

Ученики кидают кубик, определяют номер слова, который нужно описать.

  1. It is a place where people go to watch films. (a cinema)

  2. It is a place where people go to see collections of important or interesting things. (a museum)

  3. It is a place where people go to watch sporting events or support their favourite sport team. (a stadium)

  4. It is a place where people can see paintings, pictures or sculptures.(an art gallery)

  5. It is a place where people go to watch plays. (a theatre)

  6. It is a place where people go to buy food, clothes and other different things.


3th station “Friendly verbs”
