The following information from some slides of the presentation will be useful while preparing for the exams:

WHAT PLAN DO I NEED TO FOLLOW

- The plan is outlined in the exam task;

- Avoid digressing from the plan;

- Avoid starting with a rhetorical question;

- Avoid repeating the statement of the problem from the task in your introduction and conclusion, paraphrase it both times.

HOW TO PARAPHRASE

Way 1: grammar transformation, e.g. Some people think that learning foreign languages is a waste of time and money.

Some people - It is a common idea

think - held by many people

that learning foreign languages - that to study a foreign language

is a waste of time and money - means that you do not use your time and money well.

Way 2: lexical transformation, e.g. Some people say that cars should be banned in the city center.

Some people say - According to some people's claims

that cars - automobile traffic

should be banned - should not be allowed

in the city center - in the downtown.

Перефразируйте следующее утверждение так, чтобы сформулировать проблему для первого абзаца высказывания:

The Internet is the greatest time-waster.

Возможны такие варианты:

1.Today many people are spending too much time before the screen.

2. Time spent online is often spent without any practical use.

3. Using the Internet is a waste of time.

4. Making use of the global network is not always beneficial.
