Actuality

• Today mobile phones have become popular in our everyday life and the majority of people can hardly imagine themselves without iPhones. It isn’t a secret that nowadays many people feel quite helpless if they have left their mobile phones at home. First of all iPhones give us an opportunity to keep in touch with people in any place and in any time. Besides, modern mobile phones are multi-function: they provide access to the Internet, have various games, cameras, music, memory cards. That’s why I decided to find out how students use their mobile phones.

Stages of project

1 . To study the history of the creation of the mobile phone.

Mobile phones were created in the United States of America in 1947 by the laboratory of Bell Laboratories. So in the car there was a radio station that transmitted the signal to the PBX (автоматическая телефонная станция ( АТС )) to connect to the telephone.

This device was weighing 12 kilograms was placed in the car. The possibilities of this type of communication were very limited.

Motorola was the first company to create a mobile phone in 1973 by Martin Cooper. Its weight was about 1 kg. Naturally, the screen of the phone was missing, and the battery was quite weak. Talking on a DynaTAC 8000X was only one hour.

On April 3, 1973 the head of the mobile communication Department made the first call in the history of Mankind. And only in 1984, the phone went on sale. The cost was a little less than $ 4,000. But, despite such sum, a lot of people wanted to buy it.

The producing of mobile phones started in 6 March 1983, it was called DynaTAC 8000X. The weight of the phone was 794 grams. Battery charge was enough for an hour of talking and stand by time for 8 hours. The display was led. Although the price of the model of the first phone was $ 3.995, its popularity grew and thousands of Americans wanted to buy it.

Mobile phones have been constantly improving. In 1993, the world's first mobile phone with a built-in clock appeared. After 3 years, the German company Siemens began to produce devices with a recorder and color display. There were only three colors on such displays.

In 2000, devices with built-in camera appeared on sale in Japan. Around the same time, the phones with built-in mp3-player went on sale. The first mobile phone with Bluetooth was created by Ericsson in 2002.

Modern phones are represented mainly by mobile phones that support IP-telephony and wireless Internet. They have powerful batteries, video and photo camera, MP3 player, memory flash card and some SIM cards. These phones are touch-sensitive and are called smartphones.

Слово «Самсунг» ( кор. , — «сáмсон») в корейском языке означает «три звезды». Возможна связь такого названия с тремя сыновьями основателя Samsung  Ли Бен Чхоля, младший из которых Ли Гон Хи возглавил компанию в 1987 году в нарушение всех восточных традиций наследования, в согласии с которыми старший сын наследует большую часть семейной собственности.

Alcatel –это аббревиатура, полученная по первым буквам французской компании – Societe Alsacienne de Constructions Atomiques de Telecommunications et d’Electronique ( Зльзасское общество по созданию Атомных Телекоммуникаций и Электроники).

Results

Based on the studied material and my interview I created a presentation on this topic. The result of my project is off-class lesson on English language between students of 6 grades.

Most pupils were interested the history of the creation of mobile phones and how the famous brands of iPhones were translated.

Results

Recommendations for students:

• Children can use a mobile phone if it only absolutely necessary;
• Do not carry mobile phones in your pockets or on your belt when it is turned on;
• During sleep, turn off the phone and remove away from the bed;
• Use phone cases made of a material that reduces electromagnetic radiation.

Conclusion

• Studied this topic and conducted an interview among students of 5 and 6 grades, I can confidently say that 100% of interviewed students have iPhones and about 90% of students use mobile phones not only for communication. I found out that 90% of the interviewed use smartphones - phones with a large number of functions that allow them to surf the Internet, listen to music, play games, shoot videos, take pictures, and much more. I also found out that the most popular brands of mobile phones among students in 5 and 6 grades are Samsung, iPhone, Lenovo, Nokia and Fly.

• In conclusion, I want to say that, although phones give us unlimited opportunities, we should not forget about live communication and from time to time to disconnect from the world of mobile phones.
