Baker Street — the brisk street in the Marylebone (northern part of Westminster). It is well-known by collection about character of Arthur Conan Doyle novels- private detective Sherlock Holmes. According to the plan of the author, the great detective lived on Baker Street in the house 221B which actually doesn't exist.

In 1990 on Baker Street opened Sherlock Holmes's museum, and as a result the hero of the novel had quite real house, at once round the corner — Madame Tussauds's museum

On the street the metro station with the same name settles down. Baker Street station is the first subway station in the world. Nearby there is a shop devoted to the Beatles, and opposite to it — shop of rock music museum

PICCADILLY CIRCUS

Piccadilly Circus – one of the largest road outcomes in the center of London. The word Circus which is known to us, first of all, as circus, in this case is translated as "circle". The circle is the organization of road outcomes, typical for England, and intersections.

Piccadilly Circus was created in 1819 and connected 2 streets, Piccadilly and the world-known Regent Street. Later, by the end of century, to them it was added also Shaftesbury Street. With most there began the existence and till today of Piccadilly Circus and adjacent streets are the most brisk in the central London. After all they are in the heart well-known London "area of Theatres", and also near shopping centers, restaurants and the main entertainments of London.

There is a Criterion Theatre, Shaftesbury Memorial, the London Pavilion and some large shops. Directly behind the Area the legendary Area of Soho with its numerous restaurants and night clubs begins.

WHITEHALL

Whitehall — is the main road in the centre of London. "Whitehall" is called the government street as in its territory is situated buildings of the main Departments and Ministries of Great Britain.

The name happened from the big Palace Whitehall which was considerably destroyed in 1698.

In the center of Whitehall Street the military memorial — Cenotaph, to wars that dead in the First and World War II, the Ministry of Defense, buildings of Horse protection and the Admiralty is located. Along the road equestrian statues of George, the Duke of Cambridge and others are located

Oxford Street

Abbey Road

Oxford Street is the main street of Westminster. It is the most popular street, on it about 548 outlets containing in themselves the most magnificent shops are located.

Оn 3 Abbey Road settles down the known recording studio "Abbey Road”. In this studio the hits of The Beatles and many other famous and popular performers were wrote down.

SCOTLAND YARD ( GREAT and NEW)

Scotland Yard-headquarter of police of Greater London (Metropolitan Police Service)

The building of modern Scotland Yard is located in Westminster.

It is the largest police establishment in England. There work about 31 thousand officers who are responsible for the territory equal to 1606 km ², and the population in 7,2 million people living in London and vicinities

BUCKINGHAM PALACE

The Buckingham Palace - one of the sights of London, and also the official London residence of the English Queen. Here the Queen receives the state guests, here pass official ceremonies and events of Royal family.

It is the most real city in the city. Buckingham Palace, something like Vatican, it even has post office, the pool and the huge movie theater! 30 000 people are a constant number of visitors of Buckingham Palace

ST. JAMES PARK

It is called in memory of the almshouse of a name of St. Yakow (James) which was once standing here. St. James park is located in the center of London on the area of 23 hectares, is educated on a place of royal hunting grounds. Members of Royal family often carry picnics there. The park is famous for the collection of birds - there live more than 30 types.

HYDE PARK

Hyde Park - Royal Park, in the heart of London. It is one of the largest parks in London. Royal Kings Park area of 1.4 square km2 in central London.. Hide Park is famous for Speaker`s Corner. The park has many architectural creations. There is a statue of Achilles, fountains Artemis and other memorials. Hide is famous for a monument «Animals in War», which was created in 2005.Also it is famous for princess .

GREENWICH PARK

Greenwich Park — old hunting park in Greenwich and one of the largest green zones in the southeast of London. It covers the area in 183 acres (0,7 sq.km). From here open beautiful views of the Thames, the Island of Dogs and the Center of London.

At the lower level of park is located children's playground. Also there is a herbarium.

At the top level the flower garden with a pond and ducks, a garden with roses, a field for cricket settles down, it is a lot of chestnut trees of the XVII century, a tennis court, a platform for an orchestra, the Roman ruins, an old oak and the fenced reserve where there live some wild deer.

Richmond Park

The London zoo — one of the largest zoos in the world. His expositions: Children's zoo, Aquarium, World of Butterflies, Pavilion of reptiles, Kingdom of a Gorilla and more.

Richmond park — in the territory of park in 1 sq.km is available population of deer (650 individuals), a set of species of plants, different types of birds and a butterfly.

Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew Gardens

Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew Gardens which for simplicity is called Kew Gardens are a 121 hectare of gardens and greenhouses in the southwest of London. Local sight which annually visits about 2 million people.

The collection of Botanical Kew Gardens totals more than 30.000 species of plants, and the herbarium contains about 7 million samples. It is one of the largest collections of live plants in the world.
