T: - Good morning, students! Today we are going to summarize our knowledge on topic “Shopping”. Listen to the plan of our lesson. Firstly, we discuss your shopping. Secondly,we read the dialogue and make up your own dialogues. Lastly, we make up dialogues according to the situation. Be attentive and active and your work will be rewarding. Let’s start.

1.Discussing the topic
T: - You know a lot of people like shopping. What about you? Do you like to go shopping? Why? Why not? (студенты дают ответы на вопросы преподавателя, используя активный словарь урока)
Where do you usually buy consumer goods, in specialized shops or in department stores?
What sections of the department store do you visit often?
Do you always try articles of clothes on when doing shopping? May a customer try all things on?
What goods can be purchased on credit? Have you ever bought anything on credit?
What presents do you usually buy for your friend’s birthday? Do you prefer expensive gifts?
How often do you change a coat or a raincoat to a new one? Do you like new things?
Do you feel upset if you can not afford to buy an expensive article of clothes?
Whose production of shoes do you prefer, home or foreign?

Sh: - It’s only 15 dollars.
C: - All right I’ll take it. Thank you.
Sh: - Thank you. Come again.

You are looking for a birthday present for your mother. You want to buy a necklace. The shop-assistant is showing one made of gold. It’s very expensive. Refuse the idea of buying it. Ask her to show you some beads. There is a great choice of beads made of: garnet, pearl, emerald.

In a toy shop. The situation is:
You want to buy a birthday present for your younger sister. She is only six. There are a lot of toys for sale: dolls, balls, Teddy bears.

In a clothes department. The situation is:
You are going to buy jeans (a skirt, a blouse, a dress, trousers, a coat, a suit). Tell the shop-assistant what size and colour you need. Ask about the price and if you can try it (them) on.
