In some countries of the world children have no opportunity to study so they are illiterate.
In some villages there are no schools or teachers.
Children have no books, copy books and even pens, so they have to write on the ground with sticks.
It is common knowledge that illiteracy and ignorance cause wars, poverty, hunger and disease, that is why it is important to fight these problems.
There are some charity organizations that organize different campaigns to raise money and help those in need. They build schools, provide children with textbooks, copy books, pens and pencils.
There are special volunteer teams of teachers who go to different developing countries and teach children there. They want these children to have a better life. They don't do it in order to win awards, it's the smiles of the children that make them happy. Their aim is to make a real difference to children's lives.
They are sure that education can help children to find jobs, to earn a decent living and to have successful future.
