Игра-викторина "Merry Christmas!"

Цели:

Воспитательная:

  1. Учить с уважением относиться к иноязычной культуре и осознавать разницу культур.

  2. Формировать мотивацию к изучению английского языка.

  3. Способствовать воспитанию чувства коллективизма и взаимопомощи.

Учебная:

  1. Расширять словарный запас учащихся за счет ознакомления с лексикой по теме «Рождество».

  2. Научить употреблять лексику в устной речи.

  3. Дать общие сведения о праздновании Рождества в Англии.

  4. Проверить знания культуры Англии (сопоставительный анализ)

Развивающая:

  1. Продолжить работу по формированию и развитию всех видов речевой деятельности.

Оборудование: Рождественские открытки; изображения Санта Клауса и рождестственских венков;

Организационный этап: Hello, my friends! I am happy to see you! Take your seats, please. We are going to have a very interesting lesson. I hope everybody’ll get good marks today. I wish you good luck!

I. Мотивация. Постановка цели:

Look at these pictures, please. What holiday are they associated with? Do you like this holiday? Today we’ll talk about it, play games, make crosswords about Christmas! You know, Santa Claus brought some presents for you. But if you want to get it, you should take part in our competition. You should divide on three teams and every contest will bring you a sweet, you will put them in this colorful boxes. At the end of the lesson we will count your sweets and choose the best team. Let’s start!

II. Основной этап:

1. Dear children, at the beginning of our lesson you should answer some questions about Christmas:

– Who’s got a beard that’s long and white,

– Who comes around on special night? (Santa Clause)

– Where does Santa put presents? (stockings)

– How does he get into the house? (Through the chimney)

– Who helps Santa? (elves)

– What tree do we decorate? (A fir tree)

  1. Find all the presents which Santa wants to give to you:

    1. Answer Santa Clause funny puzzles:

– What is white and made out of snow? (A snowman)

– What is the end of Christmas? (The letter S)

– Is it better to write a letter to Santa on the table or on the desk? (On the paper)

– We dream about them all night before Xmas? (Presents)

– We usually put them on, but once a year we hang them for the presents? (Stockings)

– In what month do children talk least? (February)

Why can’t it rain two days without stopping? (night between them)

– What is it that never was, never will be and yet is? (Today)It is running night and day, but it never runs away? (A clock)

– They stand next to each other and yet they cannot see each other? (Eyes)

– What is it that a cat has but no other animal can have? (Kitten)

– What is the difference between here and there? (The letter T)

5. Dear friends, look at the blackboard. Here you can see the crossword puzzle which Santa Clause brought for you:

– A special Xmas song which is sung during Christmas time. (carol)

– The unusual entrance through which Santa usually comes in (chimney)

– Russian Santa Clause (Father Frost)

– Traditional Christmas dish (pudding)

– The place where the English children hang their stockings at night waiting for their presents (fireplace)

– We decorate…with toys, glass balls, sweets, bells (Christmas tree)

  1. Лингвострановедение.

Учитель: Look at these pictures, please. Here you can see Santa Claus and Grandpa Frost. Name the difference between them.

6. Письменная речь.

Учитель: Yesterday I got a letter from Santa Claus. But I can’t read it. Help me please to decode it.

Каждая команда получает по зашифрованному письму.
