THE HANGING GARDENS OF BABYLON It may be surprising to know that the Gardens might have existed only in Greek poets and historians rich imagination! They might have been located on the east bank of the River Euphrates, about 50 km south of Baghdad, Iraq.

THE STATUE OF ZEUS The height of the statue itself was 13 m. It was made by the Greek sculptor Phidias around 435 BC in the Temple of Zeus. Details of its form are known only from ancient Greek descriptions and representations on coins. It was located at the ancient town of Olympia, on the west coast of modern Greece, about 150 km west of Athens.
