I think the most interesting place in the capital of Great Britain is the Tower of London, lt's in the centre of London, near the River Thames.

The Tower of London is a great building.lt was built in 1O78. lt's a huge square building with a lot of other buildings around it. lt's got a lot of towers.

ln the past, people used the Tower of London for many different things. At one time, it was a palace, and many kings and'queens lived there. lt was also a prison, and kings and queens sent their enemies to live there, Sometimes people used The Tower of London as a place to hide when they were in danger, because the building was very safe and strong. ln the thirteenth century, there was even a small zoo al the Tower of London, There were lions and tigers living there!

Today, you can see many interesting things at the Tower of London, There are no kings or queens living there now, You can see the Crown Jewels, too. The Crown Jewels are pieces of jewellery, which belong to the king or queen of England.

But there are still guards there, They are called Beefeaters and they wear very interesting uniforms .

These days, the only animals at the Tower of London are big, black birds called ravens. Some people believe

that while there are ravens at the tower, England is safe.
