Урок английского языка в 10 классе «В мире профессий»

Цель урока: создать условия для систематизации информации на английском языке, необходимой для выбора будущей профессии.

Задачи:

• повторение и изучение слов и выражений по темам «Работа», «Характеристика человека», развитие умения их использования в речи;

• развитие умений монологической речи по теме «Работа» с использованием изученной лексики;

• развитие умения прогнозировать содержание текста, выделять главную мысль, подбирать заголовок, составлять суждение на основе прочитанного;

• развитие умения подбирать слова и их дефиниции на основе изученной лексики и языковой догадки

Планируемые результаты урока.

Предметные

• обобщение лексического материала по теме, его углубление и расширение через все виды речевой деятельности;

• приобретение дополнительных знаний о профессиях, а именно знакомство с требованиями, условиями, содержанием некоторых профессий;

• развитие коммуникативных умений по теме, а именно развитие умения аудирования и чтения с целью извлечения необходимой информации, умения монологической речи;

• удовлетворение личных познавательных интересов учащихся

Метапредметные

• развитие коммуникативных УУД через все виды речевой деятельности, в том числе умение планировать речевое и неречевое поведение;

• формирование умения монологического высказывания с элементами рассуждения с опорой на данную информацию;

• развитие познавательных УУД, а именно умения извлекать необходимую информацию, сравнивать и анализировать, развитие способностей к логическому изложению, умения работы со словарём, умения смыслового чтения;

• развите регулятивных УУД, а именно целеполагания, планирования, самонаблюдения

• воспитание у учащихся ценностного отношения к жизни, уважения к людям разных профессий;

• осознание обучающимися возможностей самореализации посредством иностранного языка и правильного выбора будущей професии;

Ход урока

1. Приветствие и организационный момент.

2. Введение в тему. Учащимся предлагается прочитать стихотворение и определить тему, цель и задачи урока.

-There are a lot of jobs and they can be divided into categories. Look at the job categories. Match the jobs to the categories. You may use the wordlist 3b.

-Add as many jobs as you can to each category. Compare your answers with the partner. Add the words you do not have to your list.

-Work in groups. Choose a job from ex.1&2 and describe it to a person who is choosing a career. Think of personal characteristics the job requires.

Sample answer: If you want to be an architect you should get higher education to become a professional person. You have to study art, technology, drawing and maths. This job is full time. It asks for a lot of responsibility, but it pays good salary. An architect has to be creative, responsible, clever, self-organized and hard-working.

-Imagine you are an employment council. You have a resume of an applicant with a number of qualities. Look at them carefully and offer the most suitable profession. Prove your idea. (Карточки по 1 на группу. Приложение 1).

-Write a short article about your parents’ jobs or about a job of your dream. You may write about conditions of it, training it requires, good and bad points of it, personal qualities necessary to succeed in it etc.

T: When can a person start work? Can you work when at school or university? Can you benefit from working while studying?

Ss: (sample answer) Yes, we can start work at the age of 14. It can be a part-time job. It can be useful to know your positive and negative points, to see if you like this kind of work, to get some money.

You like to be very busy. You like to be with people and you like organizing things for them. One of the following careers will suit you: travel agent, journalist, hotel manager, salesperson, firefighter.

The World of Professions – Мир профессий

Choosing a career is one of the most important and tough decisions people will ever make in life. According to Confucius, “Find a job you love and you will never work a day in your life.” It is absolutely true. If you are passionate about your work, you have more chances to succeed.

Well, choosing a proper career is a conscious decision of a grown-up person, and it is essential to explore job options that match your interests, skills and knowledge. It is absolutely wrong to chase your parents’ dreams. If you are not interested to work in a field they want you do, always stand your ground. It is high time for you to decide for yourself what to do for living and to find your real calling. Moreover, when you make a choice, it is also important to get appropriate education that will give you all the necessary skills, knowledge and practical awareness.

Today there are a lot of job options to choose from out there. Anyway, the choice of professions depends on

people’s individual abilities and talents. Some people have dreams of becoming a doctor and saving people’s lives, others like cooking and become master chefs. There are people, for instance, who like taking care of animals, and therefore become veterinary surgeons. Some people have a talent for painting and are not good at the other things. It is not difficult to guess that they become painters, designers or architects. All in all, today the most popular jobs are office clerks, policemen, teachers, waitresses, hairstylists, drivers and some others.

As far as I am concerned, I want to start my own business and open my own travel agency. I am too independent and enterprising to work for an employer. The idea of doing a nine-to-five job does not appeal me at all. One of the reasons I want to set up my own business or become self-employed is independence. To begin with, I can earn money working from home and spend more time with family and friends. Secondly, I can choose any work schedule that suits me best. Thirdly, if you are your own boss, you avoid the stressful daily commute and traffic jams. Furthermore, self-employed people tend to have an extended vacation. Finally, my success depends on me and my own decisions.

Some people think that getting a good salary is more important than having the job you really want. I am convinced that an enjoyable job equals a worthy salary. For

instance, people can turn their hobby into a profitable business and earn decent money from home. Besides, people spend too much time at work and it is wrong to waste time on unpleasant things.
