• English singers are the most famous in the world. Even the strong development of show business and musical variety in the United States in the 2nd half of the twentieth century could not be compared with the number and final quality of English singers that the United Kingdom produced and continues to produce.

• The United Kingdom and the United States are famous for their artists on a global scale, especially, in particular, these countries are considered the birthplace of rock. The most profound formation of the genre of this music took place in the UK, where the famous “Beatles”, Elton John, the five “Take That”, etc. Therefore, in terms of creativity and art, the British are very talented and well-known, because many people from this country have become world-famous.

The Beatles are English singers, an iconic English rock band from Liverpool: John Lennon (rhythm guitar, harmonica, vocals), Paul McCartney (bass guitar, piano, vocals), George Harrison (lead guitar, vocals), Ringo Starr (drums, vocals). The band is the greatest in history.

For the distinctive timbre of his voice and manner of performance, Elton John called Williams "Frank Sinatra of the XXI century".Worldwide album sales are above 59 million, and singles have already sold more than eighteen million. William Hogarth

The worldview of William Hogarth (1697-1764) was formed in a difficult period for England — the bourgeois system replaced feudalism. As in any era of change, there was a revision of moral values. Enrichment was perceived as the norm (remember how it was in Russia in the 90s of the XX century, when schoolchildren seriously dreamed of a career as a prostitute or a killer and did not hesitate to talk about it not only out loud, but also to write in essays). Hogarth decides to remind his countrymen of the Biblical commandments. He does this with the help of his works, debunking new mores. Engravings created by the artist are bought with pleasure. For the first time in history, William Hogarth combined 6 works with a cross-cutting plot. Another innovation introduced by the artist is the use of dramatic techniques. As a well-thought-out scenario, the created series of drawings have a central plot and several secondary ones. The artist carefully prescribed the facial expressions and gestures of the characters of social dramas. When you look at the engravings, you get the feeling that you are looking at illustrations for an exciting novel.

Joshua Reynolds

• There are not many painters who managed to become famous during their lifetime. And at the same time, it is not just to earn large royalties by painting portraits of notable people, but to make a special contribution to art. One of these spoils of fate is it, served to Great Britain by Joshua Reynolds. Reynolds fell in love with paint in early childhood, and took great pleasure in drawing classes. I didn't even think about another career. His talent quickly gained recognition. Unlike many other artists, Joshua had an easy character, was able to make a good impression, and won over with his charisma. This helped him in getting orders. At the age of 45, Reynolds was appointed President of the Royal Academy of Arts. The painter was particularly successful in portraits. In this he had no equal at that time. Joshua really fell in love with his hero, even in an unpleasant person, he was able to find qualities worthy of respect. He painted complimentary portraits, emphasized human dignity with the help of a well-chosen costume, entourage, and a pose that reveals the character.

Thomas Gainsborough

• Thomas Gainsborough (Thomas Gainsborough) - a friend and eternal rival of Reynolds. They had a complicated relationship, although they shared a sincere love for art. They appreciated each other's skills, but they always tried to achieve more than their colleague.Their work is not at all similar. The difference between the portraits created by the artists is obvious even to a person who knows little about painting. Ironically, Gainsborough, who was most drawn to landscapes, became famous as a remarkable portraitist. In his works, the painter often made a compromise: he painted his characters against the background of colorful nature. In the XVIII century, this technique was not quite typical, so Thomas Gainsborough is considered an innovator. The artist's works are recognized by the smooth, seemingly shaded lines. The manner of making brushstrokes also attracts attention. If you look at a picture created in such a technique from a distance, it seems to be alive.

William Blake

• William Blake (William Blake) from childhood was a bright personality with his own worldview. The most popular and famous artists-painters of England. Thomas Phillips. The rebelliousness was reflected in Blake's work. His most famous paintings are "The Architect of the World", "The Ghost of the Flea", illustrations for Dante's "Divine Comedy".
