• The national  flag  of  Russia , also known as the State  Flag  of the  Russian  Federation, is a tricolour  flag  consisting of three equal horizontal fields: white on the top, blue in the middle, and red on the bottom.

• One of the most popular modern versions claims that the white colour symbolizes peace and purity, the blue colour – faith and honesty and the red colour – strength, courage and blood spilled for the Fatherland.
• The flag of the Russian Federation is permanently displayed on the buildings of federal executive authorities, on the residences of plenipotentiary representatives of the President of Russia in federal districts, as well as on the buildings of state authorities of the subjects of the Russian Federation.
