English speaking countries.

English spread all over the world. Great Britain, the USA, Canada, Australia and New Zealand are English speaking countries.

English speaking countries are situated in different parts of the world. The weather and climate of these countries differ. Each country has its history, customs, traditions, and its own national holidays. But they all have a common English language.

The UK(The United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland) consist of 4 parts: England, Scotland, Wales, and Northern Ireland. London is the capital of Great Britain. More than 8 million people live there. The flag of the UK is called Union Jack. The national animal is the lion.

The USA (The United States of America) is one of the greatest countries in the world. It consists of fifty states. The capital of the USA is Washington. New-York is the largest city of the country. Other large cities are San-Francisco, Los-Angeles, Detroit, Chicago, Phoenix and Dallas. The flag of the USA is called Stars and Stripes. One of the symbols of the USA is the bald eagle.

Canada is bigger than the USA. It has two official languages - English and French. The capital is Ottawa; the main cities are Toronto, Montreal and Vancouver. Canada is often called the "Land of the Maple Leaf". The maple leaf is the national emblem of Canada. 

Australia is the only country in the world that is also a continent. The capital of Australia is Canberra; the largest cities are Sidney and Melbourne.

New Zealand is an island country Wellington is the capital of New Zealand and Auckland is the largest city. The native animal of the country is the kiwi bird. Kiwis cannot fly. It is now the symbol of New Zealand people. Small children are often called kiwis.
