Аннотация

Методические указания предназначены для использования на практических занятиях по учебной дисциплине «Иностранный язык», которая является важной составной частью в системе подготовки специалистов среднего профессионального образования. Данная дисциплина изучается в двух семестрах.

Методические указания состоят из введения, описания практических занятий, содержащих упражнения и задания для самоконтроля. Также методические указания содержат критерии оценки выполнения работ и список литературы.

ВВЕДЕНИЕ

Методические указания для практических занятий составлены в соответствии с рабочей программой учебной дисциплины «Иностранный язык (Английский)» для обучающихся по программам подготовки для обучающихся по программам подготовки специалистов среднего звена очной формы обучения специальностей 21.02.01 Разработка и эксплуатация нефтяных и газовых месторождений, 21.02.02 Бурение нефтяных и газовых скважин.

Содержание программы учебной дисциплины «Иностранный язык» направлено на достижение следующих целей:

- формирование представлений об английском языке как о языке международного общения и средстве приобщения к ценностям мировой культуры и национальных культур;

- формирование коммуникативной компетенции, позволяющей свободно общаться на английском языке в различных формах и на различные темы, в том числе в сфере профессиональной деятельности, с учетом приобретенного словарного запаса, а также условий, мотивов и целей общения;

- формирование и развитие всех компонентов коммуникативной компетенции: лингвистической, социолингвистической, дискурсивной, социокультурной, социальной, стратегической и предметной;

- воспитание личности, способной и желающей участвовать в общении на межкультурном уровне;

- воспитание уважительного отношения к другим культурам и социальным субкультурам.

Содержание учебной дисциплины направлено на формирование различных видов компетенций:

- лингвистической — расширение знаний о системе русского и английского языков, совершенствование умения использовать грамматические структуры и языковые средства в соответствии с нормами данного языка, свободное использование приобретенного словарного запаса;

- социолингвистической — совершенствование умений в основных видах речевой деятельности (аудировании, говорении, чтении, письме), а также в выборе лингвистической формы и способа языкового выражения, адекватных ситуации общения, целям, намерениям и ролям партнеров по общению;

- дискурсивной — развитие способности использовать определенную стратегию и тактику общения для устного и письменного конструирования и интерпретации связных текстов на английском языке по изученной проблематике, в том числе демонстрирующие творческие способности обучающихся;

- социокультурной — овладение национально-культурной спецификой страны изучаемого языка и развитие умения строить речевое и неречевое поведение адекватно этой специфике; умение выделять общее и различное в культуре родной страны и англоговорящих стран;

- социальной — развитие умения вступать в коммуникацию и поддерживать ее;

- стратегической — совершенствование умения компенсировать недостаточность знания языка и опыта общения в иноязычной среде;

- предметной — развитие умения использовать знания и навыки, формируемые в рамках дисциплины «Иностранный язык», для решения различных проблем.

В результате освоения дисциплины обучающийся должен уметь:

- общаться (устно и письменно) на иностранном языке на профессиональные и повседневные темы;

- переводить (со словарем) иностранные тексты профессиональной направленности;

- самостоятельно совершенствовать устную и письменную речь, пополнять словарный запас.

В результате освоения дисциплины обучающийся должен знать:

- лексический (1200-1400 лексических единиц) и грамматический минимум, необходимый для чтения и перевода (со словарем) иностранных текстов профессиональной направленности.

Освоение содержания учебной дисциплины «Иностранный язык» обеспечивает достижение обучающимися следующих результатов:

личностных:

– сформированность ценностного отношения к языку как культурному феномену и средству отображения развития общества, его истории и духовной культуры;

– сформированность широкого представления о достижениях национальных культур, о роли английского языка и культуры в развитии мировой культуры;

– развитие интереса и способности к наблюдению за иным способом мировидения;

– осознание своего места в поликультурном мире;

– готовность и способность вести диалог на английском языке с представителями других культур, достигать взаимопонимания, находить общие цели и сотрудничать в различных областях для их достижения; умение проявлять толерантность к другому образу мыслей, к иной позиции партнера по общению;

– готовность и способность к непрерывному образованию, включая самообразование, как в профессиональной области с использованием английского языка, так и в сфере английского языка.

метапредметных:

– умение самостоятельно выбирать успешные коммуникативные стратегии в различных ситуациях общения;

– владение навыками проектной деятельности, моделирующей реальные ситуации межкультурной коммуникации;

– умение организовать коммуникативную деятельность, продуктивно общаться и взаимодействовать с ее участниками, учитывать их позиции, эффективно разрешать конфликты;

– умение ясно, логично и точно излагать свою точку зрения, используя адекватные языковые средства.

предметных:

– сформированность коммуникативной иноязычной компетенции, необходимой для успешной социализации и самореализации, как инструмента межкультурного общения в современном поликультурном мире;

– владение знаниями о социокультурной специфике англоговорящих стран и умение строить свое речевое и неречевое поведение адекватно этой специфике; умение выделять общее и различное в культуре родной страны и англоговорящих стран;

– достижение порогового уровня владения английским языком, позволяющего выпускникам общаться в устной и письменной формах как с носителями английского языка, так и с представителями других стран, использующими данный язык как средство общения;

– сформированность умения использовать английский язык как средство для получения информации из англоязычных источников в образовательных и самообразовательных целях.

СОДЕРЖАНИЕ ПРАКТИЧЕСКИХ ЗАНЯТИЙ

Для формирования общекультурных компетенций по учебной дисциплине Иностранный язык предусмотрено проведение лекционных и практических занятий. Темы практических занятий и объем аудиторных часов, распределение формируемых компетенций представлены в таблице 1.

Тема: Вводно-коррективный фонетический курс

Цель: актуализация и систематизация первичных знаний обучающихся об английском языке.

Время выполнения – 4 часа

FRIENDS AND FRIENDSHIP

Everyone needs a friend. Some people want to have many friends, others need one, or two close ones. Sometimes you choose friends, sometimes other people choose you as their friend. Some of us make friends easily, but there are people who are shy, and it is very difficult for them to make friends. Having friends of your own age is important. These friends tend to look at things the same way you do because they have the same fears, interests, options, problems and worries that you do. Your friends can listen and understand how you feel whether you are dealing with a problem at school or at home. Let us talk more about friendship. Практическое занятие № 5 Тема: Описание жилища и учебного заведения

Цель: актуализация и активизация в речи лексических единиц по теме «Описание жилища»; совершенствование лексико-грамматических навыков

Время выполнения – 6 часов

A Modern Flat

My friend's parents have a new flat on the second floor of a 16-storeyed block of flats. It has all modern conveniences (gas in the kitchen and central heating everywhere). There are four rooms (a sitting-room, a dining-room, two bedrooms), a kitchen, a toilet, a hall and a bathroom. One room is Pete's bedroom and another — his parents' bedroom.

Pete's bedroom is not large but it is rather cosy and comfortable. It has two windows. The windows face a garden in front of the house. There is a daybed in the room, a bookcase where Pete keeps his books, a desk at which he usually sits and does his homework and a chair.

His parents' sitting-room is a large room with two windows and two doors. One door is leading to the hall, another to the balcony. There is a sofa in the room. There are also two armchairs, a table, a wall fitment at one of the walls, a TV set in the corner of the room and a bookcase. The nets are white and the curtains are green.

The dining-room is also very nice. There is an extending table in the middle of the room. There are four chairs around the table. At one of the walls there is a cupboard wall unit for plates, cups, knives, forks and spoons. A lamp with a nice lampshade hanging from the ceiling above the table makes the room nice and cosy. Pete's mother is very proud of her kitchen. There is a gas stove with a kitchen cabinet next to it. There are also several kitchen units, a sink with two taps (for cold and hot water), wall units on the walls.

MY HOME

We have a nice flat rather far from the center of the city. It is in Gagarin Avenue. As there are sixteen storeys in the building it has two lifts. Our flat is on the fourth floor. It has all modern conveniences such as central heating, gas, electricity, cold and hot water. There are three rooms, a kitchen, a bathroom and a hall in our flat The living-room is the largest and most comfortable room in the flat. In the middle of the living-room we have a square dinner-table with six chairs round it. To the right of the dinner-table there is a wall-unit which has several sections: a sideboard, a wardrobe and some shelves. Between the two large windows there is a little table with a colour TV set on it. Near the TV set there are two cosy armchairs. The walls of the living-room are light-green. OUR UNIVERSITY

At present, I am a first-year student of Tyumen Industrial University. This year I have passed my entrance exams successfully and entered one of the biggest Universities of oil and gas profile in Russia. Choosing my professional way, I decided to follow my father's footsteps. More than 20 years ago, he graduated from Tyumen Industrial Institute, which was set up in 1963. The matter is at the dawn of 1960s it was obvious that the West Siberian region was a unique one. The richest reserves of oil and gas made this gigantic territory a main granary of the country. Because of its swift developing, this region felt the need in Technical institute of higher education to train highly qualified specialists. In 1994, the status of University was given to the Institute. Nowadays our University consists of six Institutes. There are 18 branches in such towns as Surgut, Tobolsk, Nizhnevartovsk, Urai etc. It is worth saying that at present about 50 000 students are being trained in 650 specialties. There are 1100 candidates of science and doctors deliver lectures and run seminars.

Everything flows, everything changes. Our University is not an exception. Therefore, modern information technologies became an integral part of educational process. All educational buildings are connected with each other by the Intranet. The University has at its disposal 15 multi-media laboratories, 80 display classrooms. We are proud of our library: its fund is about 1 million books. It should be noted that the registration of the library users is made automatically and all of them are provided with the electronic readers' cards.

The training course lasts 5 years. Each year is divided into two terms. Three times a term the students have the credits when they take credit tests. The final mark is the summary of all credits. In summer, the third- and fourth-year students have field placement at plants and factories of oil and gas fields.

Our classes begin at 8 o'clock and are over at about 2 o'clock. I never plan very carefully, what I shall do every day. As a rule, my working day begins at 7 o'clock in the morning. I do not do my morning exercises. Instead, I take my dog out for a walk and it is a good exercise for me. Then I wash up, clean my teeth, brush my hair and have breakfast. During my breakfast, I always listen to the latest news over the radio.

Frankly speaking, I am very hard working, so, I am short of time. After lectures, I go either to the library or to the laboratory to get ready for my lectures. Every day we have lectures and some hours of practice. We do many subjects. I have some trouble with descriptive geometry. My favorite subjects are strength of materials and English. Those who like English may attend the intensive course of studying the English language. That is why next year I will enter Translators' qualification supplementary course.

In spite of the fact that the bus stop is right in front of my house, it takes me half an hour to go to the University by bus. When I am not late, I go there on foot. After lectures, I have dinner at home or in the dining room. Then I have a rest and do my homework. My parents usually come home late.

Our University has six hostels, so, out-of-town students have possibility to choose: to rent apartments for the period of education or to live in a hostel. During their vacation, they go to see their parents.

The students' life is very interesting and saturated. Tyumen Industrial University has rich cultural and sports traditions. All-University teams have won the first prizes at regional and town competitions. Our students participate in students' festivals where one may apply one's talents.

To tell the truth, I like to study at Tyumen Industrial University. In four years, I will graduate from the University and I will do my best to become a good specialist.

We have a rest twice a year: a month in summer and a fortnight in winter. When I have some spare time I like reading detective stories, listening to classical music, watching TV. My hobby is sport and I am a member of a tennis club. Twice a week I have training in a gym. I am fond of skiing and skating. I enjoy rock music and collect discs of my favorite rock groups and singers. Sometimes I go to the swimming pool or to the disco-dancing club on weekends. If the weather is fine, my friends and I go to play basketball. Overall, I have a good time at my free time. I will try to do my best to get good education.

In five years, I shall graduate from the University and become an engineer. I would like to work at a big machine-building plant or take post-graduate work.

My Working Day

Hello. My name is Vlad Volkov and I am a college student. I am in my first year now. I want to tell you about my usual working day. My Day off

I go to school five days a week, so I have two days off — Saturday and Sunday (I am lucky, because some other pupils have the only one day off). During the week, I am very busy, so I like to have a rest on weekend.

I am not an early riser and it is a rare Saturday or Sunday when I get up before 9 o'clock. I enjoy staying in bed, when I do not have to hurry anywhere. We have late breakfast at 10 and watch TV.

Usually we have something tasty: meat salad, fried potatoes, chicken, cake or pie. If the weather is fine, I usually do not stay indoors; my dog and I go outside. Often we go to the park and play there. If the weather is rainy and gloomy, I stay at home and watch TV, listen to the music, read, the books.

After dinner, we go visit our grandparents or relatives, or just simply take a nap. Sometimes when my friends call me, we go roller - blading near the Opera theatre.

I like roller - blading very much, I think it is a lot of fun. In the evenings, I like to watch video and music programs. There is a big armchair in my room right beside the lamp with blue shade. If it is cold, I like to sit there with cup of coffee and read.

Sometimes I do something special on weekends: go to an art exhibition, to the theatre, to the concert. I always go to bed late on Sundays, and Monday morning is the nastiest thing through all the week. I like weekends very much, because I can rest and gain some energy for the next week.
