It is the north-west part of the island of Ireland.
It consists of 6 counties.

Climate
- The climate of Northern Ireland is mild with warm winters and cool summers.
- It often rains in summer.
It`s a land of green fields , forests and farms.
It`s also a land of mountains and valleys, streams and waterfalls.
The Symbol of Northern Ireland
The Shamrock , a three-leafed plant similar to a clover is an unofficial symbol of Ireland and Northern Ireland. Shamrocks are said to bring good luck.

saint of Ireland.
He was one of those

Belfast
Belfast is the capital of Northern Ireland.
It was founded in 1609.

It is an industrial centre of Northern Ireland.
It is a large port.
There are many old churches and cathedrals, ancient monuments and historical buildings in the town.
Belfast Castle is set on the slopes of Cavehill Country Park. It`s the symbol of Belfast.
Queen's University was opened in 1849 as "Queen's College, Belfast”.
Belfast Zoo is one of the top fee-paying visitor attractions. Located in north Belfast, the zoo's 55-acre site is home to more than 1,200 animals and 140 species.
Belfast Botanic Gardens is a public park in Belfast. It`s very popular with office workers, students and tourists. The Ulster Museum is located at the main entrance.
Donegall Square
- Donegall Square is situated in the centre of Belfast. It`s surrounded by the monuments of the Victorian era.
The Big Fish
- One of the most popular attractions is the 10 – metres figure of “the Big Fish”.
- The Big Fish also called the Bigfist is a printed ceramic mosaic sculpture by John Kindness.
- It was constructed in 1999.
The Giant Causeway ( Тропа великанов )
- People can admire the beauty of unusual landscape.
- The Giant's Causeway is an area of about 40,000 basalt columns , the result of an ancient volcanic eruption.
- It is located in County Antrim on the northeast coast of Northern Ireland.
- The width is 20-30 metres.
- The height is 6 metres.

Northern Ireland is famous for its castles. They stretch like an iron chain across the country.
Carrickfergus Castle
- It is situated in County Antrim, at the north side of the Belfast Lough. It played a very important role.
- It was built in 1177 by John de Courcy, who wanted to control the entrance to the Belfast Lough.
