The Letter

45, Green Street, Cleveland, Ohio,………………   August,15,1995   Dear Unknown Friend, I’m writing to you to ask for help. You are my last hope. If you find my letter, please, don’t throw it away at once! First, be so kind to read my sad story. It was in 1983. I was young, beautiful and yearning after new impressions. So, I made up my mind to explore some exotic counties as far from my home as possible. After some thinking I headed for enigmatic snowy Russia. I visited a lot of cities and towns, they all were full of beauty and hospitality. But one of the most exiting experiences was meeting a man who turned out to be the love of my entire life! However, the fate was cruel to us. Unfortunately, we’ve lost contact with each other. The only thing I have is unforgettable memories of our walking together along the antique streets of an ancient Russian town. A kaleidoscope of towns is dancing in front of my eyes, so I can’t remember its name. But I do remember an elegant embankment of a quiet river, antient brick walls of a magnificent kremlin, a great number of colorful churches. I steel remember the delicious apple scent of an unknown confection, which my beloved gave me before I left for home. I’m steel keeping a piece of its wrapping with his message on it. Sad to say, the long journey damaged it greatly. The address of my dear Stanislav was partly erased by the see water. The most important information, the town where he lived and where we met, disappeared. I tried to find Sovetskaya street on the map, but it was no use because a great number of Russian towns and cities have similar street names. You are my last chance to regain my love. Please, write me back if you guess the riddle. I’m looking forward for your answer. Yours, Susan
