"This Land Is Your Land" is one of the United States' most famous folk songs. Its lyrics were written by American folk singer Woody Guthrie in 1940. Americans love this song a lot.

California, a US state on the Pacific Ocean, is also called the Golden State. 

California has the largest population of all the states and its largest city is Los Angeles. 

It is known for Hollywood, Beverly Hills, Disneyland, the Silicon Valley and for its agricultural and wine products.

In 1909 the first film studio opened in Los Angeles. Today, the Los Angeles suburb, Hollywood has become film and television centre.

Alaska is the largest and most northern state of the US, so the nickname of Alaska is The Great Land. In 1867 the USA bought Alaska from Russia.

Juneau is the capital. Alaska has over 3 million lakes.

Florida is one of the USA states. It is located in the south-eastern part of the USA. It is a peninsula territory. The capital of the state is Tallahassee. The biggest city is Miami. It is famous for its beaches.

Nevada is a state located in the western region of the USA. The capital is Carson City and the largest city is Las Vegas. The nickname is " The Silver State ".
Texas is a state situated in the south of country. The capital is Austin. There are a lot of deposits of oil. Texas was also home to the cowboy, that hero of the American West.

New York is a state in the Northeastern United States. The state's most populous city, New York City, New York City is a global city There are 8 million people live here.

The State of New York is famous for the National Park System with 22 national parks

Montana is in the Northwestern United States. The largest city in Montana is Billings and the capital city is Helena. Montana is famous for grizzly bears.
