The aim of the lesson: by the end of the lesson the students will be able to express their opinion about age limits for some activities for children using Complex Object and information of the texts.

Good afternoon, my dear friends! The topic of our lesson is: “Are you of age?” By the end of the lesson you will be able to express your opinion about age limits for some activities for children using Complex Object and information of the texts.



Answer the questions: at what age can young people in Russia

  • drive a car?

  • leave school?

  • join the army?

  • buy alcohol?

  • get married?



1.Give synonyms and antonyms to the word “allow”



2. Read Grammar in Focus and the sentences with underlined words and translate them, paying attention to the structure.

Look through the leaflet and say what this text is about?




1.Look through the leaflet and find at what age young people in Britain can

  • drive a car?

  • leave school?

  • join the army?

  • buy alcohol?

  • get married?


2. Which age limits does the law set for the young people in the pictures? Find the

the information in the leaflet.


What other things does the law allow or forbid British teenagers to do? (Use Complex Object, refer to Grammar in Focus). Ex. 2 on Page 109 will help you.





Which age limits are rights and which are obligations? (Students are divided into two groups)





What do your parents allow you to do? Write it in your notebooks. Use Complex Object















Sts will be able to answer the questions.

This activity was a success.








At first many pupils had difficulties. Ex. 2 on Page 109 helped them to make up sentences with Complex Object.

There were no questions on the assignment.
