She dreamt of being a ballerina, but she had to give up this idea because it appeared that she was too tall for that. In 1981 she married the Prince. In her life she did a lot of charity all over the world and became the most popular and beloved figure of the royal family. On August 31, 1997 she was killed in a car accident. Her death was a great tragedy and loss for the whole British nation.

Princess Diana

She was born in 1925. She was a good student and won a scholarship to Oxford to study chemistry. She was very interested in local politics. And she in 1959 was elected to the Parliament. From 1970 to 1974 she was Secretary of State for Education. In 1975 she became leader of the Conservative Party which was the Opposition. In 1979 took office as Prime Minister, Britain's first woman Prime Minister. People called her « The Iron Lady ».

Margaret Thatcher

She was  born on 21 of April 1926 in London. Actually she has two birthdays. She was educated privately at home. On 6 February 1952 she became Head of the Commonwealth .

Queen Elizabeth II

He was Prime Minister of Great Britain 1940-45, successfully leading Great Britain against Nazi Germany. He held many ministerial posts in Liberal and Conservative governments. In 1945 he took part in legendary meeting of Stalin and Roosevelt in Yalta.

Scotland

He is one of the greatest and most famous writers in the world. At first he was an actor. Then he began to write plays. In his works he described the most important and dramatic events of life. His plays were staged in many theaters, translated into many languages and they made him a very popular man.

William Shakespeare

He was educated in England. In 1882, he returned to India, where he worked for Anglo-Indian newspapers. His literary career began in 1886. In 1894, appeared his "Jungle Book" which became a children's classic all over the world. Other works include "The Second Jungle Book" (1895), "The Seven Seas" (1896), "The Day's Work" (1898), "Just So Stories" (1902), "Actions and Reactions" (1909), and "Limits and Renewals" (1932).

Rudyard Kipling

She is well - known all over the world as the Queen of Crime. She wrote 78 detective stories. Her books are translated into 103 foreign languages. She was born in England. She was educated in Paris. She began writing at the end of the First World War. Her books are the third best-selling books in the world.

Agatha Christie

He is a famous English writer of the 19th century. His mother wrote poetry, and she taught him to love literature. His books are read and his plays are staged in many countries and in many languages. He wrote the novel, "The Picture of Dorian Gray" (1890).

Oscar Wilde

She is an English actress. After “Titanic” was released in 1997, she got to be famous all over the world. Her partner in this film was Leonardo Di Caprio .

Kate Winslet

He was born in Canterbury, Kent. He is a British actor, who became famous playing Legolas in the « The Lord of the Rings » trilogy. He also had major roles in « Black Hawk Down » , « Pirates of the Caribbean » , and « Troy » .

Orlando Bloom

He was born on 23 July 1989 in Fulham, London, England. From the childhood he was desirous of being a famous actor. He was considered the youngest actor of the future. He won a prize of 2006 MTV Movie Awards U.S. for Best Actor in the film Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire. Now he is still in the films and he’s prospective.

Daniel Radcliffe

He is one of the most popular stars of the early days of Hollywood. He is most recognized as an icon of the silent film era. He is the man with the toothbrush mustache, bowler hat, bamboo cane, and a funny walk.

Charlie Chaplin

He was a genius in many aspects of our everyday life. He changed industry, production, and everybody's lifestyle. Many people know about him inventing some of the first automobiles. His invention of the assembly line and his five-dollar a day wage for the average worker brought about a total new change in factories.

Henry Ford

He was born in Edinburgh, Scotland, in 1847. He developed the first telephone communication. In 1915 the first transcontinental telephone was opened.

Alexander Bell

He is chairman and chief software architect of Microsoft Corporation. Microsoft employs more than 39,000 people in 60 countries.  At school he discovered his interest in software and began programming computers at age 13.  In 1973, he entered Harvard University. While at Harvard, he developed a version of the programming language BASIC for the first microcomputer.  

Bill Gates

He was born on 24 February 1955 in San Francisco. In 1972 he graduated from high school in California. He attended lectures at the HP Company and then began to work there with his schoolfellow Steve Wozniak. In 1976 he with Steve Wozniak and Ronald Wayne established Apple.

Steven Jobs

He was best known as a singer, songwriter, poet and guitarist for the British rock band The Beatles. His creative career also included the roles of solo musician, political activist, artist, actor and author. He heavily influenced the development of rock music.

John Lennon

He was an American singer, musician and actor. He is a cultural icon, often known simply as Elvis; also "The King of Rock 'n' Roll", or simply "The King".

Elvis Aaron Presley

He was a famous American singer, dancer, song writer, choreographer, philanthropist and an entrepreneur. He married Elvis Presley’s daughter.  He won 15 Grammy Awards and hundreds of other prizes during his life. The great success was gained by “Thriller 25” released in 2008.The King of Pop accidentally died on June the 25th, 2009.

Michael Jackson

He was born in June 18, 1942 in Allerton, a suburb of Liverpool, in a working family. In 1957, together with John Lennon, he founded the rock group "The Quarry Men". In 1960, the group undergoes minor changes, and becoming "The Beatles", begins performances in Germany.

Paul McCartney
