Методическая разработка внеклассного занятия
по английскому языку по теме «Хэллоуин» в 6 классе
Форма занятия: игра-соревнование двух команд
Цель занятия: знакомство обучающихся с некоторыми традициями и особенностями празднования Хэллоуина в США и Британии; воспитание уважительного отношения к традициям, принятым в культуре англоязычных стран.
Задачи:
1. Совершенствовать навыки говорения и чтения.
2. Активизировать творческие способности учащихся, развивать умение работать в группе.
3. Воспитывать чувство ответственности, чувство товарищества.
4. Активизировать познавательную деятельность учащихся. Дать возможность применить знания и умения в новой ситуации.
Участники: две команды (учащиеся в костюмах и масках) заранее придумывают названия, девизы, эмблемы, выбирают капитанов.
Оснащение: компьютер, аудиозапись песни “The Pumpkin in the Patch”, мультимедийная презентация этапов игры, карточки с заданиями, кроссворды, зашифрованный текст, костюмы и маски, эмблемы, фонарь из тыквы, емкости с водой и яблоками, погремушка, конфетти, фишки в виде тыквы для подведения итогов, сладкие призы. Зал украшен плакатами с изображениями летучих мышей, черных кошек, ведьм и привидений.
I.Вступительное слово учителя: Hello, dear friends! It has become a good tradition to come together for the competition between two teams. We are happy to see you at our competition. It is devoted to the most exciting, most interesting holiday in the USA and Great Britain – Halloween.
Dear friends! Be active, honest, helpful and industrious! I wish you success!
II. Представление команд. Учитель: Now it’s time to introduce our teams. Captains, will you introduce your teams? Let’s begin with your team.
(Капитаны представляют свои команды)
Учащийся: Hello! My name is …. Our team is “Crazy Bats”.
Our motto: Our name is “Crazy Bats”
We can’t be your lovely pets,
We like to scare little kids,
We want to get a lot of sweets.
Учитель: Thank you. It’s your turn to introduce the second team.
Учащийся: Hello! My name is …. Our team is “Scary Cats”
Our motto: Our team is “Scary Cats”
And we want to be your friends,
Give us sweets on Hallowe’en.
And this game we’ll surely win!
Учитель: Thank you.
III. Знакомство с традициями празднования Хеллоуина в США и Британии.
Учитель: You look so exciting! Your masks and your costumes are so wonderful! And do you like the decorations in our room? What can you say about this thing? What is it? (Указывает на тыкву)
Учащийся: It is Jack-o’-lantern. Children cut out eyes, a nose and a mouth in the pumpkin, put a candle in it and scare their neighbours.
Учитель: This custom comes from the name of a man called Jack, who went around the world lighting his way with a pumpkin lantern.
Учитель: Let’s begin our competition with a song “The Pumpkin in the Patch” (Хором поют песню)
(Стук в дверь.)
Учитель: Oh, there is a knock on the door!
(Заходят 2 учащихся, подходят к командам)
Учащиеся – «гости»: Trick or treat! Trick or Treat!
Give us something good to eat!
Give us candy, give us cake,
Give us something sweet to take.
You had better do it quick
Or we’ll surely play a trick!
(Если члены команды не угощают, «гости» рассыпают конфетти у их ног и стучат погремушкой)
Учитель: Boys, why have you done such a trick?
Учащийся (Примерный ответ): It’s a tradition. Children knock on doors at Halloween and say: ”Trick or treat!” If you give them something nice, they go away. If you don’t, they play a trick on you such as making noise or spilling the flour on your front door step.
“Bats” / “Cats (Команды приглашают «гостей» поиграть вместе): Would you like to play with us? Let’s play together.
IV. Поэтический конкурс. Конкурс капитанов.
Учитель: Now the first contest. Look at the screen, please. Poetic contest. It’s for you, captains!
Will you come here and recite your poems, please? (Капитаны команд декламируют стихотворения)
Учащийся: The Fat Old Witch
The strangest sight I’ve ever seen.
Was a fat old witch in a flying machine.
The witch flew high.
The witch flew low.
The witch flew fast.
And the witch flew slow.
She circled all around the town.
The turning left and turning right.
She disappeared into the night.
That fat old witch in the flying machine
Was the strangest sight I’ve ever seen.
Of course it happened on Halloween.
Учащийся: It’s Halloween
It’s Halloween! It’s Halloween!
The moon is full and bright
And we shall see what can’t be seen
On any other night.
Skeletons and ghosts and ghouls,
Grinning goblins fighting duels,
Werewolves rising from their tombs,
Witches on their magic brooms.
In masks and gowns we haunt the street
And knock on doors for trick or treat.
Tonight we are the king and queen.
It’s Halloween! It’s Halloween!

V. Конкурс «Самое длинное слово»
Учитель: The next competition is called “The Longest Word”. Look at the screen, please! You see a long word. Read it please! You have to make other words from the letters it contains. The letters can be used in any order. You may use one more letter, any letter you want. I give you 5 minutes. Don’t forget about our holiday! (Celebrations (y))
Celebration , 2) scare, 3) scary, 4) lion, 5) no, 6) yes, 7) rat, 8) bat, 9) set, 10) so, 11) tea, 12) to, 13) bear, 14) son, 15) tie.
Учитель: Now read the words one by one. If you have similar word, cross it out. How many words are left? I give you ‘pumpkins’.
Who has got the longest word? – You’ll receive a ‘pumpkin’.
How many words on topic “Halloween” have you got? (A ‘pumpkin’ for every word.)
VI. Домашнее задание
Учитель: It’s high time to check up your home task. Your next contest is “Home task”. Your home task was very simple: you should make up a scary story.
(Команды по очереди читают свои истории)
Do you like the story? Is the story scary and terrible? Your team gets a ‘pumpkin’.
VII. Пауза релаксации. Знакомство с традиционными играми.
Учитель: Are you ready for fun? The next contest is called “Ducking for apples”. It’s a traditional Halloween contest for boys. You see? There are some apples floating in the water. Try to catch an apple with your mouth. Don’t touch the apple with your hands.
Would you like to “duck for apples”? Are there any volunteers? (Приглашаются двое учащихся)
Ready, steady, go! (2 min)

Учитель: The competition is going on. The next task is Crossword “Halloween” Try to find the hidden words among these letters. The first team gets a ‘pumpkin’. How many words have you found? Read them aloud, please.

IX. Аудирование. Конкурс загадок.
Учитель: It’s high time to guess the riddles. Don’t forget about our topic. You get ‘pumpkins’ for every right answer.
An old woman riding on the broomstick in the sky. (a witch)
A person who lives next to you. You scare this person on Halloween. (a neighbour)
Chance or luck. (Fortune)
The season when the days become shorter and the nights become longer. (autumn)
It is round and yellow, big and tasty. It grows in the patch. Cinderella used it to go to the ball. (a pumpkin)
It is not a mouse, but it is small, it is not a bird, but it can fly. People are afraid of it. (a bat)
Something that is white, something that scares people, something that flies and says ‘boo’. (a ghost)
A thing that helps a witch to fly in the sky. ( a broomstick)
A traditional thing on Halloween which is usually put on the window sills to scare friends and neighbours. ( jack- o’-lantern)
A thing that you put on your face to scare somebody or to pretend to be something. ( a mask)
X. Работа с лексикой. Конкурс «Антонимы»
Учитель: Now one more contest is waiting for you. “Antonyms”. Every team gets a card with sentences in Russian. Try to find antonyms to every word in Russian. Then translate these sentences from Russian into English.
Они ненавидят стоять из хижины в хижину.
Мы любим ходить от дома к дому. – We like going from house to house.
Ты ненавидишь снимать веселую пижаму.
Я люблю носить страшные костюмы. – I enjoy wearing scary costumes.
XI. Пауза релаксации. Знакомство с традиционными играми.
Учитель: Are you tired? The next contest is for girls. Children often tell fortune on Halloween. We need two girls who want to play The Love-Apple. (Для конкурса приглашаются две девочки)
Учитель: Take apples and knives. Try to pare the apple without breaking the peeling.
Ready, steady, go! (1 min)
And now throw the peeling over your left shoulder. What initial is formed? It’s an initial of your beloved. If the peeling breaks, you’ll have no beloved this year.
XII. Составление монологического высказывания.
Учитель: The next competition is called “Trick or Treat”. Let’s make a story about this great holiday. One by one, sentence by sentence. You get ‘pumpkins’ for every correct sentence. Let’s start. (Учащиеся по очереди составляют монологическое высказывание о празднике)
Примерный рассказ: Halloween is a traditional holiday in Great Britain and America. It is celebrated on the 31st of October. Children usually take pumpkins, cut out eyes, noses, mouths on them, put candles inside and scare their friends and neighbours. They wear scary masks and costumes. They wear costumes of witches and ghosts. They go from house to house and say “Trick or Treat” people give sweets, cookies and apples for them. Children like to tell fortune. They like this holiday.
XIII. Заключительный этап. «Магическое письмо»
Учитель: Our competition is coming to the end. The old fat witch has sent you a “Magic Letter”
There are no letters in it. Use the code to read the magic letter.

XIV. Пауза релаксации. Знакомство с традиционными играми.
Учитель: And now I’ll find the best Halloween man. I’ll tickle your face, neck, nose, eyes with a feather. The person who will not laugh at this moment, who will be calm, is the best Halloween man. Let us see!
(Пройти и пощекотать детей перышком по ушкам, носикам, шейкам. Тот, кто не засмеется, и будет лучшим хэллоуинщиком)
X. Рефлексия. Подведение итогов игры.
Учитель: Dear friends! It’s a pity but our competition is over. Count your ‘pumpkins’, please. How many ‘pumpkins’ have you got? Who is the winner? The winner is “…”
But I think that all of you are winners. You are so clever, bright, industrious! Thank you very much. You get sweet prizes! Good luck! Goodbye!
