Цели урока: 

1. Развитие навыков монологической и диалогической речи.

2. Развитие навыков языковой догадки, языковой реакции, памяти.

3. Формирование уважительного отношения к языку, умения активно и плодотворно работать в коллективе.

Задачи урока:

Развивающие.

1. Развить способность осмысленного восприятия и распределения внимания, логического изложения содержания высказывания, формулирования выводов из прочитанного и услышанного, выражения собственного мнения, развивать способности к самостоятельному труду и самооценке.

2. Развивать познавательную активность

Учебные.

1. Развитие навыков и умений всех видов речевой деятельности: умение работать с новой лексикой, аудировать незнакомый текст с извлечением полезной информации, развивать навыки чтения с извлечением заданной информации.

Воспитательные.

1. Воспитывать чувство гордости и патриотизма к своей стране как части культуры стран изучаемого языка.

2. Стремление к взаимопониманию между людьми разных сообществ, толерантного отношения к проявлениям чужой культуры.

1. Создание условий для организации и обеспечения образовательного процесса.

Оснащение урока: компьютер, мультимедийный проектор, постеры с изображением различных праздников, карточки для закрепления грамматических навыков и активизации навыков и умений в говорении, раздаточный материал, презентация.

Ход урока

1.Организационный момент:

Teacher (T): Good morning, dear children! We’re glad to see you. Today in our lesson we have guests. Let's go greet them.

Ознакомление обучающихся с планом предстоящего урока. T: Today you’re going to have a very interesting lesson. First of all Let’s see your mood. You have smiles on your desks. Take them and show if you are happy or sad.

Today we shall speak about ... So, let us guess what will be the theme of our lesson. Look at the pictures. What do you see? Name the first letters of every word. So, What is the theme of our lesson?

Right you are “Holidays”.

What holidays or festivals do you know in Britain / in Russia?

There are many holidays in Britain and in Russia. They are: New Year, Christmas, Valentine’s Day, Mother’s Day, Victory Day, Women’s Day, Pancake Day, Harvest Day and Maslenitsa.

What is the most favorite holiday in your family?

My favorite holiday is the New Year’s Day. We have a party with my friends and my family. We watch a special countdown clock on TV. When it is midnight, it’s the New Year! Lots of places have a fireworks display at midnight. We sing songs to celebrate the New Year. We usually wish ‘Happy New Year!’ to one another.

Do you make New Year’s resolutions? What are your New Year's resolutions?

Usually I make New Year’s resolutions.'I'm going to do my homework the same day that I get it.''I'm going to eat more fruit each week.'

What religious holidays do you know?

I know two religious holidays. They are Christmas and Easter.

What do you know about Maslenitsa and Pancake Day?

Pancake Day is the last day before the period which Christians call Lent in February or March. It is traditional on this day to eat pancakes. Maslenitsa is the brightest, funniest and most entertaining of Russians holidays. The symbol of Maslenitsa is a round pancake with the traditional fillings. People burn a straw figure of Lady Maslenitsa. It means the end of winter cold. 

What are the most important national holidays in Russia?

The most important national holidays in Russia are the Victory Day, the Women’s Day and New Year.

What do Russian people celebrate on the 9th of May?

Russian people celebrate the Victory Day on the 9^th of May.Victory Day is a holiday that commemorates the victory of the Soviet Union over Nazi Germany in the Great Patriotic War.

Name the date when English people celebrate Halloween.

Halloween is celebrated on October 31. It is also known as All Saints' Day.

New Year’s Day

New Year’s Day celebrates the start of a new year. It is less popular in Britain than Christmas. But it is also celebrated there. Not all English people celebrate New Year.

They have a New Year party at home. On that day they wish a “Happy New Year”. English and American people often make New Year’s resolutions.

Christmas

The most popular holiday in Britain is Christmas. It is a happy holiday for many people. Some weeks before it, people send greeting cards to the friends.

You can buy Christmas cards or you can make them. People buy a Christmas tree and decorate it with toys, balls. At night Father Christmas comes. He has got a big bag of presents for children.

St. Valentine’s Day

In February the British have a holiday for all lovers – St. Valentine’s Day. Nobody knows much about St. Valentine. On this day children write their names on cards.

People give them to the friends. Many people give cards and flowers. St. Valentine’s Day is the day of love for many people.
