III. Introducing and explanation of the new theme:

In this part I will explain them their new lesson it will be “Active and Passive voices” in English. As we know there are active and passive voices in English language. In the active voice we know that, who is doing the action, but in the passive voice we don’t know who is doing the action and we don’t care about that.

An active voice in the simple present tense has the following structure: Subject+ first form of the verb+ object

A passive sentence in the simple present tense has the following structure: Object of the active sentence+ is/am/are+ past participle form of the verb +by + subject of the active sentence.

IV. Consolidation of the new theme:

For consolidation of the new lesson I will write some example for active and passive voices:

Simple present tense

Changing an assertive sentence into the passive: Active: I write a letter. Passive: A letter is written by me. Active: I help you. Passive: You are helped by me. Changing a negative sentence into the passive: Active: I don’t write a letter. Passive: A letter isn’t written by me. Active: I don’t abuse my servants. Passive: My servants are not abused by me. Changing an interrogative sentence into the passive: Structure: is/am/are+ object of the active verb+ past participle form of the verb+ by+ subject of the passive verb

Active: Do you write a letter? Passive: Is a letter written by you? Active: Do you write stories? Passive: Are stories written by you?

Simple past tense

An active voice in the simple past tense has the following structure: Subject+ first form of the verb+ object A passive sentence in the simple past tense has the following structure: Object of the active sentence+ was/were+ past participle form of the verb +by + subject of the active sentence. I will write some example for active and passive voices in the past simple tense: Changing an assertive sentence into the passive: Active: I wrote a letter. Passive: A letter was written by me. Active: I helped you. Passive: You were helped by me. Changing a negative sentence into the passive: Active: I didn’t write a letter. Passive: A letter wasn’t written by me. Active: I didn’t abuse my servants. Passive: My servants weren’t abused by me. Changing an interrogative sentence into the passive: Structure: was/were+ object of the active verb+ past participle form of the verb+ by+ subject of the passive verb Active: Do you write a letter? Passive: Is a letter written by you? Active: Do you write stories? Passive: Are stories written by you?

Simple future tense

An active voice in the simple future tense has the following structure: Subject+ will+ first form of the verb+ object

A passive sentence in the simple future tense has the following structure: Object of the active sentence+ will be+ past participle form of the verb +by + subject of the active sentence.

I will write some example for active and passive voices:

Changing an assertive sentence into the passive: Active: I will write a letter. Passive: A letter will be written by me. Active: I will help you. Passive: You will be helped by me. Changing a negative sentence into the passive: Active: I will not write a letter. Passive: A letter won’t be written by me. Active: I won’t abuse my servants. Passive: My servants will not abused by me. Changing an interrogative sentence into the passive: Structure: is/am/are+ object of the active verb+ past participle form of the verb+ by+ subject of the passive verb Active: Will you write a letter? Passive: Will a letter be written by you? Active: Will you write stories? Passive: Will stories be written by you?

V. Setting a home task: Teacher: Your homework will be for the next lesson writing sentences with simple present, past and future tenses. Making sentences with positive, negative and interrogative form of the active and passive voices.

VI. Assessing the pupils:

At the end of the lesson I’ll put them their marks and I’ll say who was more active and answered for homework and to my additional questions, during the lesson.
