ORGANISATION MOMENT:

  • Ask the pupils stand up and then play CD. The pupils listen and do activity.

  • ask the pupils to tell you two things they have in their rooms.

E.g.: what’ in your room?

MAIN: Put up the My Toys! Poster on the board. Point to the items (doll, like, bike, car, plane), one at a time, and say the corresponding words. The pupil repeat, chorally, and individually. Point to each item in random order. Ask the rest of the class for verification. Name an item, e.g. bike . Ask a pupil to mime an action connected with it. E.g. riding. Repeat with as many pupils as you think is necessary.


Pupils open the book. PLAY THE CD. The pupils listen, point to the pictures and repeat the words. Play the CD again pausing after each word. The pupils repeat chorally and individually.


COLOUR

Refer the pupils to the picture and elicit the items. Explain the activity. The pupils draw and colour the pictures. Allow the pupils some time to complete the activity. Then, pupils point to the items and present them. Demonstrate this yourself first. Pupils point to and name the colours. Then say:

Sing a song

Ask to pupils point to the doll and the bike and say: I have got a doll, I have got a bike! The pupils repeat after teacher.

Play the CD. The pupils listen to the song. Divide the pupils in to two groups and assign a verse to each group. Play the song again for groups to sing the assigned verses.

Set the scene by asking the pupils questions about What they can see in the picture. Point to the picture ask to pupils : Look at Lilly’s room!

What colour is Lilly’s bed.

Pink.

(pointing to Lilly’s toys) Lilly’s got a lot of toys!

Play the CD. The pupils listen and follow the dialogue in their books.

Put up the My ABC poster on the board. Point to the letter I and say [i] the pupils repeat after teacher. Point the letter and ask the pupils to say the sound

Point to the picture of the igloo and say I [i] igloo

Put up the poster on the board My Toys! Invite the pupils to come to the front of the classroom. Ask him/her: what have you got?

Encourage him/her to point to on item on the poster and answer e.g. I have got a bike
