In the mountains, between Chechnya and Dagestan, there is one of the most beautiful lakes in southern Russia - Kezenoy-Am. Unfortunately, you can't swim in it. But you can admire it from the beach or rent a boat.

Kezenoi am lake on the border of the Vedensky district of the Chechen Republic and the Botlikh district of Dagestan.

This is the largest and deepest lake in the North Caucasus, located at an altitude of more than 1800 meters above sea level. The surface of the lake is 2.4 square km.

The depth of the lake is 74 m. the length of the lake from North to South and 2 kilometers, and from West to East and 2.7 km. The maximum width is 735 meters. The length of the coastline is 10 kilometers.

The water level depends on the amount of precipitation falling in a year. For swimming, the water in the lake is too cold, even in summer its temperature is not higher than 17-18 degrees.

The climate in the area of Lake Kezenoy-Am is favorable for creating a recreation area here. The mountain range protects the valley of the reservoir from cold winds. The sun shines almost all year, even in winter. Rains are rare.

Rest on Lake Kezenoy-Am is focused on sports activities. For them, there is a fitness center, a rope town and a climbing wall. It is very popular to fly over the lake at a speed of 50-100 kilometers on a ZipLine at a distance of 850 meters.

From Dagestan to Lake Kezenoy-Am, you can come from Makhachkala or from Derbent. The distance from Makhachkala is about 200 kilometers, from Derbent - 320 kilometers. The road from Dagestan to Kezenoy-Am is long, but interesting. It runs through historical places.
