taking a picture in Piazzale Michelangelo is simply impossible. This is an open space at the top of a hill. Where you can enjoy a wonderful view of Florence.

The square was built in 1869 on a hill south of the city center by the architect Giuseppe Poggi.

In the center of the square, named after the master of the Renaissance, there is a copy of his statue of David, at the foot of which there are copies of four allegories from the Medici chapel.

In addition to the square's terrace itself, Poggi built a pavilion-loggia at the opposite end of the square from the river, in which it was planned to house a museum of Michelangelo's works, but this project did not materialize and currently there is a La Loggia restaurant .

Today, there is a car park between the pavilion and the statue, and the space to the north of the statue is occupied by a tourist area with an observation deck overlooking the central part of the city.
