Natural Beauty of Dagestan

Mount Pabaku is one of the most beautiful places in Dagestan. The beginning of the trail to the top is located at the distant village of Burshi in the Lak region in the upper reaches of the Artsalinekh gorge. This area overlooks a picturesque valley that resembles an alpine relief.

Translated from Lak Pabaku means “Shilo Mountain”. Mount Pabaku is an example of the pyramidal creativity of nature and ranks third in the world in terms of the pyramidal peak.

The height of the mountain is 3997 meters above sea level, but at the top of Pabaku, kind people built a three-meter tower of stones, climbing which you will find yourself at an altitude of exactly 4000 meters.

Local residents Laks consider Mount Pabaku sacred and people who make a pilgrimage to the mountain are cleansed of their sins. An ancient legend says that a person with a heavy load of sins and transgressions will never be able to climb to the top
