There is a ball for devilry.

With no sun and no lights

And only jack-o-lanterns,

One can watch a creatures’ flights:

Devils, witches, goblins.

sometimes Australia

and New Zealand

and many Latin

American countries .

The term Halloween (and its alternative rendering Hallowe'en ) is shortened from All-hallow-even , as it is the eve of "All Hallows' Day",which is now also known as All Saints' Day .

An Irish legend says that jack-o'-lanterns are named after the man called Jack.

Trick or treating

The main Halloween activity for children is trick or treating. Children dress in costumes and masks and go from door to door saying "trick or treat".
