My ideal place in the world

My ideal place in the world is the republic located in the North-Western Federal District, it is the Republic of Karelia, the capital is the city of Petrozavodsk. Most of the republic is occupied by coniferous forests, famous for their tall pine trees and slender fir trees, juniper bushes and an abundance of berries.

In Karelia more than 60 thousand lakes, the most famous of which are Onega and Ladoga.

The nature of Karelia fascinates everyone who has ever visited these places. The amazing beauty of the northern nature, riotous rivers with steep rapids, virgin cleanliness of the forests, fresh air filled with a delicious aroma of pine needles, stunning sunsets and the richness of the world of flora and fauna have long attracted tourists and travelers to Karelia.

In the northern regions and at the heights of the mountains, there are plants characteristic of the tundra: mosses, lichens, dwarf spruce and birch.

But most of the republic is covered with coniferous forests. Closer to the north pine forests grow. The closer to the southern outskirts of Karelia, the greater the spruce forests, which alternate mixed.

Fauna of Karelia is rich and diverse. Here there are all the animals that traditionally inhabit the taiga. From large mammals in the Karelian forests you can find a lynx, brown bear, wolf and badger.

Numerous hares-whites have long been a welcome hunt for local hunters. A lot of beavers and protein. Rivers and lakes were chosen by muskrats, otters, martens and European mink.

And in the White Sea and Onega Lake, there are seals.

The greater part of Karelia is located in a temperate continental climate zone with marine elements. Winter, though lasts a long time, but strong frosts are rare here. There are mostly mild winters with plenty of snow.

Spring, with all its delights in the form of melting snow, blossoming trees and increasing daylight comes only in mid-April. But until the end of May there is a chance of a return of frosts.

The most unstable and unpredictable weather rules on the sea coast and in the Ladoga and Onega lakes. From the west frequent cyclones come. The weather is mostly overcast, with constant winds and an abundance of precipitation. On the coast of the White Sea, there is the highest cloudiness in the entire republic.
