The Eiffel Tower

My favourite landmarks is the Eiffel Tower.

The Eiffel Tower is the best known symbol of France and Paris.

It was named after Gustav Eiffel. He designed and built the tower in 1889.

This tower is made of iron. The tower stands on four legs and has a sharp peak on the top. The tower is 324 metres tall.

The tower has three levels for visitors, with restaurants on the first and second. The third level is the observatory with the beautiful city view.

The tower is the tallest monument in Paris and the most-visited monument in the world.


The Taj Mahal

In my presentation you can see the Taj Mahal.

The Taj Mahal is in India, Agra. 

It looks like a palace, but it’s a tomb. [tum]

It’s one of the most beautiful tombs [tums] in the world.

There are gardens and fountains around the building.

The tomb is made of 28 types of stone and jewel from all over India and other countries. Most of the tomb is made of a beautiful white stone called marble.

The Taj Mahal was built about 400 years ago. The Indian Emperor built it for his wife.

About 20,000 people built the Taj Mahal, and it took 22 years.

More than 1,000 elephants helped to move the stones for the building.

  1. Цель урока: развитие языковой компетентности учащихся, умение работать в парах и в группе.

  2. Тип урока: урок-экскурсия

  3. Задачи урока:

    • коммуникативные: выучить новые л.е. по теме «Достопримечательности!» и закрепить их употребление в речи учащихся;

    • обучающие: научить составлять предложения с использованием the Present Continuous tense.

    • развивающие: развивать умения во всех видах деятельности (аудировании, чтении, говорении, письме);

    • воспитательные: воспитывать уважение к культуре других стран.

  4. Формируемые УУД:

    • формирование ответственного отношения к обучению;

    • освоение грамматического материала, поискового чтения;

    • умение задавать вопросы и коротко на них отвечать;

    • осуществление самоконтроля, самооценки в процессе коммуникативной и грамматической деятельности.

  5. Оснащение урока:

  1. Организационный момент:

- Hello, boys and girls! I’m glad to see you!

- Give a smile to each other. Sit down!

- I think you are ready to work hard. Let’s start our lesson.
