Цель урока: развитие языковой компетентности учащихся, умение работать в парах и в группе.
Тип урока: урок-экскурсия
Задачи урока:
коммуникативные: выучить новые л.е. по теме «Достопримечательности!» и закрепить их употребление в речи учащихся;
обучающие: научить составлять предложения с использованием the Present Continuous tense.
развивающие: развивать умения во всех видах деятельности (аудировании, чтении, говорении, письме);
воспитательные: воспитывать уважение к культуре других стран.
Формируемые УУД:
формирование ответственного отношения к обучению;
освоение грамматического материала, поискового чтения;
умение задавать вопросы и коротко на них отвечать;
осуществление самоконтроля, самооценки в процессе коммуникативной и грамматической деятельности.

Ход урока
Организационный момент:
- Hello, boys and girls! I’m glad to see you!
- Give a smile to each other. Sit down!
- I think you are ready to work hard. Let’s start our lesson.
Фонетическая и речевая зарядка зарядка:
- How are you today?
- Who is absent?
- What date is it today?
- What day is it today?
- What time is it?
- What is the season now?
- What’s your favourite season?
- What is the weather like today? (sunny, windy, cloudy, raining)
- I agree with you, it's not a very nice day.

- Name them. What’s your favourite lesson?

Постановка темы и цели урока:
- Look at the blackboard. They are the top tourist attractions. Repeat after me the names of these attractions. Now, tell me, please, what is it? And where does this landmark stand? For example:
- This is Big Ben. It is in the UK, London. (на доске)
- This is the Eiffel Tower. It is in France, Paris.
- This is the Kremlin. It is in Russia, Moscow.
- This is the Great Wall. It is in China.
- This is the Statue of Liberty. It is in the USA, New York.
- This is the London Eye. It is in the UK, London.
- How do you think what is the theme of our lesson?
- The theme of our lesson is the landmarks.
4. Повторение пройденной грамматической темы:
You have recently learnt the rule about the Present Continuous. Let’s do the exercise to revise it. Look at the whiteboard. Look at the pictures and put the verbs into the Present Continuous tense.
5. Работа с учебником по теме урока:
Ex.1 Now I want you to know more about one of the most famous attractions in London – Big Ben. Open your SB at page 81. Let’s look through some new words before listening.
Listen attentively to the text and say what exactly Big Ben is.
- Big Ben is one of the four huge bells inside the tower.
Ok. Let’s read this text aloud. Who wants to start? Who is next?
Ex.2 Each of you has one sheet of paper on your desk. Look at the ex. 1. Complete the sentences about Big Ben, write down the missing words.
1. (Millions of tourists)… come to London to visit Big Ben.
2. Big Ben is a … (huge bell).
3. Big Ben is named after … (Benjamin Hall).
4. I would like to go to London and see this amazing … (attraction).
Ex.3 Now look at the blackboard. I want you to ask and answer four questions about Big Ben. You should start with these words.
1. Where… (does the clock tower stand)? – The tower stands in London.
2. How tall … (is the tower)? – The tower is 98 meters.
3. How heavy … (is Big Ben)? – Big Ben is 14 tons.
4. How long … (is the hour/minute hand)? – The hour hand is about 3 metres long. The minute hand is about 4 metres long
6. Физкультминутка - I think you are a bit tired. Let’s have a rest. Stand up please.

Let's continue our lesson. I know Vika has prepared the presentation about one of the most famous landmarks in the world. This is the Eiffel Tower. Ok, Vika, come on, let’s hear you.
