Тема урока: Внешность. The way we look.

Тип урока: ознакомление с новым лексическим материалом по теме «Внешность».

Цель: научить детей описывать внешность.

Планируемые результаты:

- предметные:

  •  формирование коммуникативной компетенции;
  • введение и активизация новой лексики;
  • развитие навыков аудирования, чтения, письма, речевых умений (диалогической и монологической речи);
  • формирование логического, системного мышления;
  • развитие интеллектуальных умений и мыслительных операций;

- метапредметные:

  • создание условий для эффективного усвоения материала и понимания смысла собственной деятельности на уроке;

- личностные:

  • формирование социокультурной компетенции;
  • воспитание чувства ответственности за совместную работу;
  • развитие интереса к изучаемому языку, расширение кругозора уч-ся;

Дидактическое и методическое оснащение урока:

- мультимедийная презентация;

- карточки для индивидуальной работы, работы в парах;

Оборудование:

-компьютер;

- мультимедийный проектор;

Ход урока:

I. Организационный момент.

1. Приветствие.

- Good morning, dear children! I’m very glad to see you and I hope you are too! Let’s say “Good morning” to our guests. Take your places. Let’s begin our lesson.

2. Создание эмоциональной атмосферы урока.

- You’ve got two cards on your desks. Choose one and tell me how you are today. Are you happy or sad?

II. Основная часть.

1. Введение в тему урока.

- Look at these slides. In the 18th century children were as small grown-ups. They match the popular idea of beauty: slim bodies, tight waists and pale appearance.

- In the period after the First World War British women wore their hair short. Changing times, changing styles. And we are different as well.

- How do you think? What are we going to talk about?

2. Сообщение темы и целей урока.

- We are going to talk about the way we look. We are going to learn new words, act out a dialogue and describe our appearance.

3. Введение новой лексики «My body».

- Look at the picture, listen and repeat. (уч-ся слушают и повторяют новые слова).

4. Введение прилагательных, описывающих внешность.

- You’ve got cards with new words. Let’s learn some useful words.

 

People’s faces can be              round (круглый),

                                               oval (овальный);

People’s bodies can be           slim (стройный),

                                               stout (полный);

People’s hair can be               curly (вьющийся),

                                               straight (прямой),

                                               dark (темный),

                                               fair (светлый);

People’s noses can be             turned-up (вздернутый);

People can be                         good looking (приятный, милый).

5. Тренировка лексики.

- What are their opposites? You’ve got cards with word combinations.

6. Развитие монологической речи и диалогической речи.

- The first column prepares a description.

- Look at this picture. What is he like?

William Stanley is a journalist. Soon he’ll be 40. He is tall and big and a little stout. His hair is dark and curly. It’s short. He has a round pleasant face. His eyes are dark grey. His mouth is big, his teeth are white and good. He has a big nose. He is good looking.

- Make up a description of another people. You’ve got special cards.

- While some students prepare a story, other ones will complete a dialogue and read it.

- The second column prepares a dialogue.

What are you like?

- Hello! I’d like to speak to Mary.

- Speaking.

- It’s Mike here. I have a letter and a little present for you from your friend Nick. Can we meet this afternoon? You know, I’m leaving for London tonight.

- OK. Where can we meet?

- Let’s meet at the Post Office at 3 o’clock. Is it OK with you?

- Yes, it’s all right.

- What are you like?

- Well, I’m not very tall. My hair is long and fair. My face is round. I’ve got brown eyes and my nose is turned-up. And what are you like?

-  You know, I’m rather tall. My hair is dark and short. My face is oval. I’ve got blue eyes and a straight nose.

- Very well. See you at 3 o’clock near the Post Office.

- Bye-bye.

- And the third column let’s play a game “Guess”.

2. We can eat and drink because we have it.

3. We can smell because we have it.

4. We can smile because we have them.

5. We can hear because we have them.

 

 

 

7. Обобщение и контроль изученного материала.

- Now, I want to check your knowledge. Take your pencils and draw what I’ll say. He’s got a round face. His hair is short. His eyes are big and dark. His nose is straight. He’s got ears. His mouth is big. You might have something like that.

- Well done, children!

III. Заключительная часть.

1. Подведение итогов урока, оценка работы учащихся.

- Our lesson is over. I’m satisfied with your active work. And how are you now? Your marks for today are: … Open your daybooks and write down your home task. Learn new words by heart and make up a dialogue or a description.

- The bell is ringing! Good-bye!
