Historical engineering monument of the Circum-Baikal railway

The Circum-Baikal Railway (Кругобайка́льская желе́зная доро́га or Кругобайка́лка, abbreviated "КБЖД") is a historical railway in the Irkutsk region of Russia. It runs along the Northern shore of the Southern extremity of the lake from the town of Slyudyanka to the Baikal settlement. Until the middle of the 20th century the Circum-Baikal railway was part of the main line of Trans-Siberian Railway; later on, however, a duplicate section of the railway was built. Sometimes called a unique achievement in engineering,[ the Circum-Baikal is one of the picturesque sights of the area around Lake Baikal.

Ethnographic Museum Taltsy  The museum is located in a picturesque place on the right bank of the Angara river in the Taltsy area. The museum is famous for its rich natural landscapes and an opportunity of acquaintance with the materials and spiritual culture of the Pribaikalye peoples - the Russians, the Buryats, the Evenks. The museum expositions tell us about life, customs and traditions of the Pribaikalye peoples (Russians, Aborigines, Buryats, Evenks, Tofalars) of the XVIII - early XX centuries .

Ethnographic Museum Taltsy

The museum is located in a picturesque place on the right bank of the Angara river in the Taltsy area. The museum is famous for its rich natural landscapes and an opportunity of acquaintance with the materials and spiritual culture of the Pribaikalye peoples - the Russians, the Buryats, the Evenks. The museum expositions tell us about life, customs and traditions of the Pribaikalye peoples (Russians, Aborigines, Buryats, Evenks, Tofalars) of the XVIII - early XX centuries .

Pribaikalskiy national Park Pribaikalskiy National Park occupies 450 kilometres of Baikal's coastline from the southernmost end of the lake to the river Kheirem - the southern border of the Baikalo-Lenskiy nature reserve. The island of Olkhon and all the islands of the Maloye Morye are also part of the national park. There are 64 mammal species in Pribaikalskiy National Park: 1 species of pinnipeds, 2 hares, 6 ungulates, 9 bats, 10 species of insectivores, 14 predators and 22 of the rodent.

Triangle power Priilimya It is a route that combines three unique natural objects. They are a mountain Silyakhta of a volcanic origin, a fault Ilim and lake Ilim. The mountain Silyakhta looks like a pile of stones. This mountain amazes with its size. The length of the fault Ilim is about 1300 meters, and its width is about 100 meters with a water depth of 110 meters. Lake Ilim has a round form and its diameter is about 300 meters, its depth is about 111 meters.

Triangle power Priilimya

It is a route that combines three unique natural objects. They are a mountain Silyakhta of a volcanic origin, a fault Ilim and lake Ilim. The mountain Silyakhta looks like a pile of stones. This mountain amazes with its size. The length of the fault Ilim is about 1300 meters, and its width is about 100 meters with a water depth of 110 meters. Lake Ilim has a round form and its diameter is about 300 meters, its depth is about 111 meters.

Ukowski Waterfall Ukowskiy waterfall is considered the most powerful and beautiful waterfall among all located on the territory of the Central Sayan. It is surrounding basalts create a truly beautiful and very picturesque landscape, which attracts huge number of tourists. Its height is about 20 meters and its width of up to 10 meters. The interest of tourists is not only the waterfall and a gorge with steep cliffs which were carved by the river over millions of years.

Ukowskiy waterfall is considered the most powerful and beautiful waterfall among all located on the territory of the Central Sayan. It is surrounding basalts create a truly beautiful and very picturesque landscape, which attracts huge number of tourists. Its height is about 20 meters and its width of up to 10 meters. The interest of tourists is not only the waterfall and a gorge with steep cliffs which were carved by the river over millions of years.

Natural Park of "Swan lake"

Swan lake is a natural park which situated in amazing and picturesque plains near the river Kirenga. It is one of the few places in the South of Eastern Siberia where you can see a sable, a reindeer, an elk. But the most valuable wealth of the natural Park are rare and endangered species of birds: osprey, white-tailed eagle, black stork, red-breasted goose. A particularly unique lakes in the Park, as they are the most southern point of nesting of whooper swans.

The Shaman-stone The shaman stone is a popular tourist destination. It is one of the most famous Lake Baikal and it is a part of the Baikal National Park. The place is surrounded by picturesque countryside and it is a wintering area for many birds. In summer, the Shaman-stone can only be enjoyed from the shore, and in winter you can make a tour on an air cushion. So you will be able to touch the border of lake Baikal and you can learn exactly where it is located.
