Geographical position

Historically the territory of the United Kingdom is divided into four parts:

England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland.

Interesting fact: Irish became an official languages of the European Union in 2007.

Scottish Gaelic

Interesting fact: ‘Slogan’ is a Scottish Gaelic word.

Manx Gaelic

Interesting fact : at five of the island’s pre-schools and one primary school, the children are only taught in Manx.

Cornish

Interesting fact: Cornish is a direct descendant of Brythonic, the original native language of Britain.
