Are We Different Or Alike?

Мы разные или похожие? (сценарий урока в 7 классе по учебнику В.П. Кузовлева)

Цели урока: 1. Образовательная

Организовать обучающихся на знакомство с некоторыми сферами деятельности их зарубежных сверстников.

2. Развивающая

Развивать коммуникативную и персональную компетенции обучающихся.

3. Воспитательная

Воспитывать уважение, понимание и толерантность к другой культуре.

Оснащение урока: мультимедийный проектор, экран, цифровой фотоаппарат, компьютер, фотография американских школьников, карточки с таблицами.

План урока

1. Оргмомент.

2. Речевая зарядка. Введение в иноязычную атмосферу.

3. Определение темы урока.

4. Чтение письма американского школьника.

5. Упражнения с материалом письма.

а) нахождение ответов на свои вопросы;

б) заполнение таблицы;

в) комментирование результатов по таблице;

г) поиск вопросов в письме.

6. Анализ результатов, зафиксированных в таблице на доске.

7. Ответ на главный вопрос урока: Are we different or alike?

8. Написание коротких стихотворений (синквейн).

9. Подведение итогов урока.

10. Объяснение домашнего задания.

Ход урока

1. Оргмомент. Teacher (T): Hello, how are you? How nice you are today! How happy you are! Let me take a picture of you. Say “cheese”! Great! (учитель фотографирует учащихся). На экран проецируется фотография американских школьников. Oh, is it your photo? Oh, no! Who are they? What country are they from?

Pupil1 (P1): I think they are from Russia. P2: To my mind they are English. P3: Maybe they are from America.

T: How right you are! These children are Americans.

1. Речевая зарядка. T: Now I’d like to draw your attention to the appearance of the students. What do you think about these children? What do they look like?

Ученики описывают внешность и одежду американских школьников.

T: What can you say about your own appearance? Do you differ from American children? Ребята описывают свою внешность и внешность одноклассников и приходят к выводу, что они похожи на американских школьников.

T: I agree with you.

1. Определение темы урока. T: Now, look at the blackboard, please. Here is a table. It will help us to answer the main question of our lesson today: Are we different or alike? (на классной доске написана тема урока и помещена таблица).

T: I think we are ready now to fill in the first line of the table. Is your appearance different or alike? (заполняется 1 строчка таблицы знаками + или -).

Would you like to learn anything about your “new friends?” What questions would you like to ask them?

Ученики задают различные вопросы. Учитель записывает их на доске.

P1: What is your name? P2: Where are you from? P3: How old are you? P4: What is your hobby? P5: Do you like music? P6: What is your favourite music? P7: Do you go in for sport? P8: Do you like watching films? etc.

4. T: Oh, I see, you’d like to learn a lot about the American students. Here are the letters from these children. Let’s take one of them and see if there are any answers on your questions. Учитель берет одно из писем, присланных американскими школьниками. Одновременно это письмо проецируется на экран. У каждого школьника на парте уже лежит копия данного письма. Учащиеся просматривают письмо и находят ответы на большинство своих вопросов.

Imagine you are Matt. Try to answer the questions you have asked. Учитель читает вопросы с доски, ребята находят ответы в письме, если таковые имеются.

T: In my opinion, you are ready to do the next task. Look through the letter again and find all necessary information about the author of it to fill in the table. Ученикам раздаются таблицы, в которых они должны заполнить первую строчку.

Учитель обращает внимание учащихся на слова band, movie. На доске заранее сделана запись: Band = musical group

Movie = film

Favorite = favourite

Ученики легко определяют, что в первом столбике слова из американского английского, а во втором – из британского английского и имеют одно и то же значение.

T: Now, exchange the tables with your deskmates and check them up. Look at the screen. На экране появляется образец с заполненной таблицей. Происходит взаимопроверка в парах.

T: The second line in the table is for you. Put there the information about yourself.

Ребята заполняют вторую строчку в таблице, вписывая информацию о себе.

T: It’s time to compare the information about Matt and about you. Where is our first table?

Учащиеся анализируют полученные данные и фиксируют результаты в первой таблице.

P1,P2,P3: Our names are different. We live in different places. But our hobbies, favourite bands, sport and films are alike. We both like playing football and basketball. Our favourite films are Lord of Rings and Harry Potter. We adore the same music and musical groups.

T: Well done! Now you should work in groups of 4. Ребята образуют 4 группы по 4 человека. T: Look through the letter again and find the questions Matt asks you.

В письме содержатся следующие вопросы.

What kind of music do you listen to? Have you ever heard of the band Rammstein? What’s your favourite band? Do you watch movies? What’s your favourite movie? Do you play sport? I play basketball and run track, do you? I would like to hear what is popular in Russia and what you like.

T: Are your and Matt’s questions different or alike?

Заполняется последняя строчка первой таблицы, которая теперь выглядит так

6. T: So, the table is filled in. Let’s analyze it. Из таблицы видно, что почти по всем параметрам интересы сходны.

7. T: Now we are ready to answer our main question Are We Different Or Alike?

P1, P2, P3: We are alike because we have the same interests. We are alike because our hobbies are similar. We are alike because we both like similar sports and movies. We are alike because we like to listen to Rammstein and Metalica and Linkin Park and Matt likes the same musical groups.

T: So class, answer the question, please. Are we different or alike?

Class: We are alike!

8. T: And the last. Let’s make up a poem called sinkwein. Two groups will make up poems about American teenagers, the other two groups – about you, Russian teenagers. Учащиеся уже имеют опыт составления таких стихотворений, поэтому на доске приводится краткая запись правила составления такого рода стихотворения.

1 строчка – 1 существительное

2 строчка – 2 прилагательных

3 строчка – 3 глагола

4 строчка – предложение из 4 слов

5 строчка – 1 существительное

Учащиеся снова делятся на 4 группы. Две группы получают задание написать синквейн про американских школьников, две группы – про российских школьников.

После прочтения школьниками своих стихотворений еще раз они убеждаются, что их стихотворения имеют примерно одинаковый смысл.

We are very alike Have many friends everywhere

Children. Teenagers.

T: So, you see, your poems are about teenagers from different countries but they are almost alike.

9. T: What discovery have you made today at the lesson?

P1, P2, P3: We have understood that children in the USA are similar to us. We are alike. I think children all over the world are alike.

T: You are right. Would you like to write a letter to Matt? I think you are ready now to answer all Matt’s questions and tell some facts about yourselves. Don’t forget about all rules of writing letters. At the next lesson we’ll choose the best letters among yours.

Hello, my name is Matt. I am writing to you from my school St. Ann. I am in the 8^th grade here. It is in Keansburg, New Jersey. Around here we do a lot of things that you might do too. I play basketball, football, run track, play video games, listen to music, and go on the computer.

What kind of music do you listen to? I listen to all different kinds of music. Have you ever heard of the band Rammstein? They usually tour in Russia and Germany. What’s your favorite band? I prefer metal and Rock and Roll. My favorite bands are Metalica and Linking Park. Do you watch movies? What’s your favorite movie? I like Lord of Rings. One of my favorite series is the Harry Potter series. Do you play sports? I play basketball and run track, do you?

Right now in America clothes, electronics, sports, music, cars and movies are popular. I would like to hear what is popular in Russia and what you like. Please write back and answer some of the questions I have asked you.
