Irkutsk is the largest city and administrative center of Irkutsk Oblast, Russia. With a population of 617,473 as of the 2010 Census, Irkutsk is the 25th largest city in Russia by population, the 5th largest in the Siberian Federal District, and one of the largest cities in Siberia.
Irkutsk is characterized by an extreme variation of temperatures between seasons.
It can be very warm in the summer, and very cold in the winter.
Important roads and railways like the Trans-Siberian Highway and Trans-Siberian Railway connect Irkutsk to other regions in Russia and Mongolia . The city is also served by the Irkutsk International Airport and the smaller Irkutsk Northwest Airport .
Sochi
Sochi is the largest resort city in Russia. The city is situated on the Sochi River, along the Black Sea in Southern Russia, with a population of 443,562 residents, up to 600,000 residents in the urban area.
Being a part of the Caucasian Riviera , it is one of the very few places in Russia with a subtropical climate, with warm to hot summers and mild to cool winters.
Sochi hosted the XXII Olympic Winter Games and XI Paralympic Winter Games in 2014.
It was also one of the host cities for the 2018 FIFA World Cup.
Kirov
Kirov (Russian: Ки́ров , IPA: [ˈkʲirəf]) is the largest city and administrative center of Kirov Oblast, Russia. It is located on the Vyatka River in European Russia, 896 km northeast of Moscow. Its population is 518,348 (in 2020).
Kirov is a historical, cultural, industrial, and scientific center of Priural'e (territory on the west side of the Ural Mountains); place of origin for Dymkovo toys; the most eastern city founded during the times of Kievan Rus'.
Cheboksary
Cheboksary is the capital city of Chuvashia, Russia and a port on the Volga River. The city is located in the Volga Upland region and stands on the shore of the Cheboksary Reservoir. Cheboksary was first mentioned in written sources in 1469, when Russian soldiers passed here on their way to the Khanate of Kazan.
The climate in the region is continental and it is similar to the climate in Moscow, although colder in winter, which lasts from late November until late March with a permanent snow cover.
Svirsk
Svirsk (Russian: Свирск ) is a town in Irkutsk Oblast, Russia, located on the left bank of the Angara River 150 kilometers northwest of Irkutsk.
Svirsk was granted town status in 1949. Within the framework of administrative divisions, it is incorporated as the Town of Svirsk —an administrative unit with the status equal to that of the districts.
Voronezh
Voronezh (Russian: Воронеж ) is a city and the administrative centre of Voronezh Oblast in Central Russia straddling the Voronezh River and located 12 kilometers from where it flows into the Don River.
The city sits on the Southeastern Railway, which connects western Russia with the Urals and Siberia, the Caucasus and Ukraine, and the M4 highway (Moscow– Voronezh –Rostov-on-Don–Novorossiysk).
