The theme of the lesson: Kazakhstan is my motherland.

The aims of the lesson: to enrich pupils’ knowledge about Kazakhstan, discuss Kazakhstan geography, symbols and our president; to develop oral speech; to bring up patriots of their Motherland.

The kind of the lesson: New lesson

The methods and techniques: explanation, discussion, question-answer, pair work, work with map.

The procedure of the lesson:

I. Organization moment.

Good morning pupils! Sit down please. Answer my questions:

1) Who is on duty today?

2) Who is absent?

3) What is the day/date is it today?

4) What is the weather like today?


II. Checking up the home task.

What your home task for today?


III. New theme.

Today we are going to speak about our motherland Kazakhstan. Our country is young. Kazakhstan is a democratic, legal, social and independent country. It’s in the 9th place by its territory in the world, after Russia, China, the USA, Argentina, Brazil, Canada, India and Australia. The area of Kazakhstan is 2 753 000 square kilometers. Our country is situated on two continents: Europe and Asia. The population is about 17 million people. The climate of the country is continental.

Open your books at page 84. The theme of our lesson is “Kazakhstan is my motherland”. Answer my questions:

  • What countries does it border on?

  • What large cities do you know?

  • What kinds of nationality live in our country?

  • What is the official language in Kazakhstan?

The flag of Kazakhstan has two colours: blue and yellow, it has the sun, the eagle and the national ornament.

The Emblem. There is Shanyrak – a circle on the top of yurta in the centre of the state Emblem. The sun rays are spreading all around the Shanyrak. The Tulpars complete the ensemble. The state Emblem is made in gold and blue color.
