Задание

Учитель английского определяет тематическое направление занятий “P.E. lessons” и демонстрирует ситуацию: “One of my colleagues PE teacher Alexandr Sergeevich complains that five pupils of the 9^th forms miss many PE lessons. They say that Alexandr Sergeevich feels like making them injured by doing all these hard exercises. The teacher is sure that they are simply lazy”. Учитель предлагает учащимся определить проблему, которую необходимо разрешить, чтобы найти выход из ситуации. Обучающиеся обсуждают тему и потом задают проблему “To attend P.E. or miss P.E. lessons – that is the question”.

Задание подгруппам:

1. Провести социологический опрос на тему “ Посещение уроков физкультуры и причины их непосещения в 9 классах»

2. Составить сравнительную таблицу аргументов учащихся “ за “ и “ против “ посещения уроков физкультуры.

3. Исследовать характер упражнений, выполняемых на уроках физкультуры, их сложность и влияние на физическое развитие учащихся. Консультация с учителем биологии и физкультуры

4. Изучить тексты, презентацию и видеофрагмент на спортивную тему и выявить положительные и отрицательные моменты занятий спортом.

5. Подготовить решение проблемы, как сделать уроки физкультуры привлекательными для всех учеников.

Для решения проблемы подготовлен кейс, в котором предложены статьи о спорте, о том, как составить сравнительную таблицу результатов опроса, видеофрагмент и презентация

о спорте.

Работа с кейсом

За несколько дней до урока обучающимся озвучивается тема занятия “To attend PE lessons or miss PE lessons – that’s the question”. Также проговаривается, что занятие будет проводиться в режиме кейс-метода. (Диалогам и дискуссиям в рамках кейса предшествует работа над лексикой и грамматикой.) Учитывая то, что уровень языковой подготовки у всех обучающихся разный, они изучают материалы кейса индивидуально в качестве домашнего задания. После такой предварительной подготовки работа обучающихся в группе, участие в обсуждении будут более плодотворными. Это позволит им высказывать свое мнение, дискутировать, так как они будут подготовлены в языковом плане. Также обучающиеся должны провести социологический опрос о посещения уроков физкультуры, составить сравнительную таблицу аргументов “ за “ и “ против” посещения уроков, исследовав положительные и отрицательные аспекты занятий спортом.

Sport

Sport is popular all over the world. First of all some people think it is just in fashion to do sport and to keep fit. Also people say that it is interesting to take a chance and to take part in different competitions. When you go to a sports centre or sports club you often meet friends, talk with them, so we can say that sport helps us to make friends. For children sport is interesting because they enjoy playing and running. Besides for those who are very successful in sport it is the way to earn money, win the prize and become famous. I am sure that any sport helps you to become strong, energetic and healthy, lose or gain weight, look athletic and cool and of course just to have a good time.

My favourite lesson is Physical Training.

Usually we have our physical training lessons either in the gymnasium or on the sports ground. Our sports ground is situated behind the school. On the sports ground there are a football field, a volleyball ground and a basketball ground.

Before the PT lessons we put on our sports uniform. After we have changed our clothes, we go to the gymnasium and line up. At the beginning of the lesson we usually do gymnastic exercises. Then we pull up, jump, climb the rope.

On the sports ground we run. Sometimes we throw balls. We often play sports games at the PT lesson. All the boys in our form like to play football. But our girls prefer to play volleyball or basketball.

In winter at the PT lessons we ski. We ski on the sports ground or in the park. Sometimes, if the weather is cold, we go to skate at the skating rink. The boys play hockey on the sports ground too.

Many boys and girls of our form attend various sports sections. I also attend a sports section in swimming. Three times a week I go to the swimming-pool. Some of my friends go in for tennis, track-and-field athletics, boxing and other sports.

Sport in My School

If you want to keep fit you must go in for one kind of sport or another. Sport is an essential part of my daily life. Every morning all the year round I do my morning exercises. Almost every day I do some training. In summer I go swimming or rowing. During my summer holidays I go on hikes. I usually spend my winter holidays in the country where I ski, skate or toboggan.

I also go in for track-and-field (athletics) events. Different sports and games are popular with my classmates. All my friends go in for different kinds of sport, such as water polo, gymnastics, horse-racing, wrestling, fencing, weightlifting, boxing, ice-hockey, speed-skating, figure-skating, football, basket-ball, volley-ball, etc. We have fine teams at our school and different kinds of competitions take place there. The boys of my school are crazy about football, they play football and the girls are football fans. The girls never miss a single match played by school teams.

And now a few words about our physical training lessons. In winter our physical training lessons are held out-of-doors. We go skiing or skating. When it is cold outside P.T. lessons are held indoors, in our school gymnasium. We play different team-games such as basket-ball or volley-ball. Besides we have some training in gymnastics. In autumn and in spring, when the weather is warm we have P.T. lessons at our school stadium. My school has a sports day once a year in late spring. On this day we have no lessons.

All the competitors change into their sports clothes, the spectators find their seats round the track ready to cheer. All the events take place at the same time. This day is a great success every year. Even if the weather is not warm, we enjoy ourselves just the same.
