Introduction

The tea is the most popular drink in the world.

Tea party is an important part of peoplas lives.Russia has its traditions to drink tea,England has its traditions.

My work covers the study of tea party in Russia and in England.

Chapter 1

The appearance of tea in Russia

In Russia tea appeared before than in England.In the 16^th century(1576 year)the Chinese Emperor presented the Russian king yellow tea(in exchange for fur).In 1638 year 65kg black tea was brought from Mongolia.

Before that in Russia broth of herbs and berries drunk were.

Tea is loved in Russia.

In 1679 year made a contract Russia with China on the permanent delivery of tea to our country.

In 18^th century tea became a national drink.

In 19^th century the first the teahouse appeared in Russia.

Tea party in Russia is a noisy communication,a lot of fod and fun.

The symbol of Russian tea party and welcome is the rich table.On the table there are a lot of pies,cakes,honey,jam.The main attribute is the samovar,the symbol of comfort and warmth.

The samovar is always a pot with tea leaves.On the teapot there is “the woman on the pot”.

Anoter tradition is to drink tea from the cup holder.They appeared in the 17th century.They were invented not to burn your fingers.

In rich houses the cup holders were of silver.

In the merchant houses tea was drunk from the dish.

Tea with lemon is called “Russian Tea”.

In Russia tea is drunk from the round cup.

Tea party in England is the main tradition.In England tea appeared in 17^th century.In 1657 year “Garway’s Coffee House” began to sell tea in London.

In 1664 year the wife of King Charles II Katarina Bravanskaya made tea the Palase drink.

The Duchess Anna made afternoon tea a famous tradition.

In 1884 year the first teahouse was opened in London.

The British are the biggest tea drinkers in Europe.1 Englishman drinks 1800 cups in a year,that is 4,5kg of tea.In Russia it is only 0,35kg.

The famous tea party is the “fife o’clock”.At this time life fades,shops and offices close for the break.

On the table there is a vase with fresh flowers.

Every time there is your sort of tea.This needs tea etiquette.On the table they always have many types of tea.

Tea is served with light snacks.It is ginger biscuits,scones,toast.

Tea with milk is called “English Tea”.

Tea is drunk from high cups.

86% of English people drink tea at home.

14% of English people drink tea outside the home.
