The book exhibition British Literature: A Russian View

Dear colleagues, friends, all those interested in English language, literature and culture!

28 of October 2016 at 3 pm at the Russian National Library (165, Moskovsky prospect) and the Association for International Cooperation with the support of SPELTA (Saint Petersburg English Language Teachers’ Association will officially open the book exhibition British Literature: A Russian View. The Exhibition will be officially opened by the representative of Consulate General of Great Britain in Saint Petersburg. This event will be immediately followed (at appr. 3.40 pm) by a conference in the Library’s conference-room under the title The Open World of English that deals with a variety of themes associated with British and American Literature, culture, English language, its teaching and studying, translations and intercultural communication.

We plan a number of plenary presentations on these themes by prominent specialists in the area from Britain, Russia and the US.

The conference is aimed at public awareness of new research in the field, professional development of ELT professionals as well as postgraduates, enhancing the knowledge of students as well as sharing experience and knowledge with the community of language and literature professionals of Saint Petersburg.
