Victor Kapitonovich Kushchenkov was born in 1919 in Astrakhan. There were six children in the family. His father died, when Vitya was 7 months old. He has never seen his father. He has a very difficult childhood. He began to work when he was fourteen. He worked at the ship repairing plant.

Victor Kapitonovich Kushchenkov was born in 1919 in Astrakhan. There were six children in the family. His father died, when Vitya was 7 months old. He has never seen his father. He has a very difficult childhood. He began to work when he was fourteen. He worked at the ship repairing plant.

FAR EAST.  At the age of 19 he came to the Far East. He finished the courses of drivers and got a driver’s license.  In 1937 he started to serve in the Red Army in Iman (Dalnerechensk) now. He had to be demobilized soon, but the Great Patriotic war began.  And all his plans changed. He stayed in the Army.

Mariya.  In 1943 Viktor met Maria. She finished school and started to work as a telegraphist. This profession was very important during the war. Maria was awarded the medal of valiant labor during the Great Patriotic war.

WAIT FOR ME. In 1943 Viktor was sent to front of course, he knew that he could be killed, but he knew that he had to defend his mother, his girl-friend and his Motherland! He wrote to Maria: “ Wait for me and I’ll come back”

VICTORY DAY.  1945 the Great Victory. It was the happiest day for all people of our country.

A PEACEFULL LIFE. The Great Patriotic war has finished, but Victor stayed to serve in Berlin to keep order there. He came back home in 1946 Maria and Victor married. The eldest daughter was born here.

MUKHTUYA.  In 1956 diamonds were found in Yakutia. Republic needs a lot of people to work and build new roads and towns. In 1958 Victor came to Yakutia to the settlement Mukhtuya.The life was not easy, the winter was very cold. And workers lived in the tents.

SHE WAS BORN IN YAKUTIA. The youngest daughter was born in Mukhtuya (Lensk). Mariya Fyodorovna worked in the canteen №4 “Yakutalmaz”. She was awarded the order of Honor.

 Future. In 1975 Victor and Mariya became pensioners and moved to the settlement Liman. The did  not think that they were heroes. They lived, worked brought up their children. Their lives were like many other lives of many people who von Great Victory. Their grandchildren are thankful them for FUTURE .
