The times of Peter the Great

Voronezh had a new birth in the times of Peter the Great. It can be called a cradle of the Russian national fleet. Now there is a monument to Peter 1, which was built in 1860.

Petrovsky square

Monument to Peter the Great established on the territory of the square. Near the monument four ship cannons are located. .

In the territory of the square in 2007 a commercial- entertaining complex was built.

Alexey Koltsov is a well-known Russian poet of the 19 th century. He wrote lyrics called poetic songs.

In 1 868 on the initiative of the poet’s sisters the monument was opened. This monument is one of the oldest in Voronezh.

Revolution avenue

Earlier, in 18 th – 19 th centuries, it was called Bolshaya Dvoryanskaya street.

There are many beautiful places on your way along the avenue.

This is the main highway of the city, which begins from the railway station in the North and ends by the Lenin square in the South.

Today Voronezh has become one of the largest industrial cities of Russia.

Cinema “Spartak”

Cinema “Spartak” In 2006 it was named the best cinema in Russia.

The cinema is located in the heart of the city of Voronezh.

Voronezh is a city of science and education. It has dozens of research centres, universities and colleges. The town has rich cultural traditions. There are many cinemas and libraries in here.
