Тема урока: Внешность (Appearance )

Цель занятия: составить рассказ о внешности человека

• Активация лексического материала по изученной теме;
• совершенствовать аудио - произносительные навыки с целью извлечения конкретной информации;
• развивать навыки чтения  с целью получения детальной информации;
• научить высказывать свои мысли на английском языке;
• составлять связный рассказ, используя изученные грамматические конструкции;
• определять взаимосвязь внешних данных и характера человека;
• способствовать развитию творческого мышления, воображения;
• развивать познавательную активность.

Задачи

1)  образовательные:

• Формировать умение употреблять изученные лексические единицы в речи учащихся;
• формировать навыки англоязычного произношения

2)  развивающие:

• развивать навыки фонетического слуха; аудирования;
• совершенствование навыков диалогической и монологической речи

3)  воспитательные:  

• воспитывать уважение к своим сверстникам; 
• терпимости к индивидуальности других, 
• воспитывать интерес к потребности принимать участие в общении на английском языке.

Today we are going to learn how to describe the appearance of different people

Все люди разные, кто-то высокий, а кто-то маленький, один стройный, другой полный. У людей разный цвет волос и глаз. 

We use  to be  when we talk about

– ageheight  ( рост) He is tall.  Он высокий. She is short.  Она маленькая.

– personality ( личность) You are nice.  Ты милый. He is rude.  Он грубый.

We use   have when we talk about

- hair style ( прическа)

You have short brown hair.  У нее короткие темные волосы.

We have long blond hair.  У нас длинные белые волосы.

- eye color  ( цвет глаз)

She has big blue eyes.  У нее большие голубые глаза.

He has small green eyes.  У него маленькие зеленые глаза .

Глаголы:

1.  like about  —  нравиться в What do you  like about  her?

2.  look like  –  выглядеть What does she look like?

3.  be like  —  представлять из себя What is she like?

Прилагательные (общее впечатление):

nice  — милый

pretty — хорошенькая

beautiful — красивая (о женщине)

handsome — красивый (о мужчине)

good-looking — приятной внешности

ugly — неприятной внешности, безобразный

We are going to speak about people’s appearance, hobbies and traits of character. During the lesson you will practice in speaking, listening and reading. At the end of the lesson you’ll make a project. But first let’s practice in phonetics and remember some words you’ll need during the lesson.

She has a brother. His name is John. John is a tall boy. He has got short fair hair and an oval face. His eyes are big and brown. He has big ears and his face looks funny.

to be pretty / handsome – быть красивой/ красивым (привлекательным)

to be typical of smb – типичная внешность как у кого-либо

to be shortsighted/ near-sighted — быть близоруким

to look one’s best — выглядеть наиболее привлекательно

closely resemble — очень похож

to take after smb — быть похожим

to look one’s age – выглядеть на свой возраст

to aged well – хорошо выглядеть по возрасту

to be dressed spick and span – быть одетым с иголочки

to be well-groomed – ухоженный , хорошо одетый

to look a mess, to look scruffy – выглядеть неряшливо

to take much care over one’s appearance – заботится о внешности, следить за собой

And speaking about clothes let’s mention dress code. Have we got dress code in our school? Should students follow this rule? Are you for or against wearing a uniform at school? Must we wear a uniform?

I am 16, but everyone says that I don’t look my age. I  take much care over my appearance. I am of medium height and built. I do a lot of sport, and so I look slim. My hair is wavy and blonde. My nose is straight and eyes are blue. My ears are not big, the face is oval.

From the very start I should say that it’s not an easy thing to speak about yourself as it’s hard to have a look at yourself from aside, but at the same time who knows you better than you yourself do? So to begin with I should say that I am a boy of sixteen with dark hair and blue eyes. I am fairly tall, i.e. 180 centimeters tall, but not of a very powerful build. I am shortsighted and I have to wear glasses most of the time.

Creative task WORK IN CLASS

Make a leaflet describing one of the celebrities you really admire (movie star, musician, singer, etc.)
