Famous Belarusian scientists.

1. Boris Kit was an outstanding Belarusian mathematician, physicist, chemist, philosopher and educator. Coming from the small Belarusian village of Aharodniki, he became a world-famous scientist in the field of Astronautics. The inventor of space rocket fuel, which made moon flights possible. Boris Kit was 107 years old when he died in February, 2018.

2. A well-known Belarusian revolutionary and scientist Nikolai Sudzilovsky was born to a noble family in Mogilev. Нe was an ethnographer, a geographer, a chemist, a biologist, a genetic doctor. From 1892 Nikolai Sudzilovsky lived in Hawaii where he fought for the rights of the locals.

3. Alexander Chizhevsky was born in the Grodno region in 1897. Chizhevsky was a world-famous scientist who studied the biological effects of the sun and universe, including the connection between the solar activity and periods of war throughout history.

4. Sofia Kovalevskaya, the first female Professor of Mathematics, came from the Belarusian noble family. She spent her childhood in the Palibino Estate, Vitebsk region. Sofia Kovalevskaya is the author of numerous papers on mathematical analysis, mechanics and astronomy. She was the greatest known woman scientist before the twentieth century.

5. Pavel Sukhoi was an aerospace engineer, an inventor, one of the creators of supersonic jets, a designer of more than 50 original aircraft solutions, more than 30 of which have been constructed and tested. He was born in 1895, in the town of Glubokoye, Vitebsk Region.

6. Zhores Alferov was born in Vitebsk in 1930. Alferov won the Nobel Prize for Physics in 2000. At the ceremony, it was said that without Alferov and his work, it would not be possible to transfer all the information from satellites down to the Earth or to have so many telephone lines between cities.
