15 min (P/W) | Checking home task and revision (A Look Back on Mitch Rampage) Provide students with answers (A Look Back at Mitch's Rampage, page 4). Students swap their answer sheets and peer-check the answers. Discuss the meanings of the bold-faced words as a class. Students are free to make notes if necessary. 20 min (I) | Watching a video: Learning the Ways of Invasive Species (0:00-5:34) Show Slide 5 and explain to students they will listen to the zoologist Joanna Bagniewska talking about different invasive species and their influence on the environment. Provide each student with Words from the video: Learning the Ways of Invasive. Go through Slides 6-13 and learn new vocabulary. Provide each student with Listening Answer Sheet. Explain that students will be given no more than 2 minutes after the video is played two times, so they should answer while watching the video. Play the video two times (0:00-5:34). ***Teacher is free to play the video with subtitles or without depending on the level of students. Students swap their papers for peer-check. 5 min | Preparation for the Report Quickly discuss what natural disasters students have already read or watched about. Provide the students with Template for Report. Show Slide 18 and explain that students, in pairs, will prepare a report on a natural disaster at home. They must make notes about: - what, when and where the disaster happened; - describe how the disaster started and developed; - consequences and results. Work schedule Step 1: Find a partner you will make a report with. Step 2: Look for examples, facts and statistical data on the Internet. Step 3: Make notes according to the plan. Step 4: Rehearse your report (both of you must contribute equally). Criteria for speaking Use new topic vocabulary (no less than 3 words each student). Speak no less than 2 minutes (without pauses).
